Another Xmas In Hell

Ruben Mosqueda Let’s face it the holiday season hasn’t had a lot of ‘great’ hard rock and metal representation, sure there’s TSO and there’s TWISTED SISTER’s Christmas album from a number of years back, where they raided their back catalog and created an original album out of it. There’s also been a couple metal holiday compilations, but nothing really noteworthy.

L.A. GUNS from out of nowhere released a digital only holiday themed EP titled Another Xmas In Hell, sounds heavy, aggressive and unruly! Well, while the tunes aren’t heavier than what we’ve come to expect from L.A. GUNS, it’s gritty, sleazy and rambunctious. On this EP the guys tackle holiday covers from the likes of THE DAMNED “There Ain't No Sanity Clause”, RAMONES “Merry Christmas [I Don't Want To Fight Tonight]”, SLADE “Merry Xmas Everybody” and BILLY SQUIRE “The Bills/Christmas Is The Time To Say I Love You” which features the comedic ramblings of WILLIAM SHATNER, if you’re familiar with his schtick you know that a little goes a long way and this was just enough.

Another Xmas In Hell clocks in at less than 15 minutes, which is just about as much Christmas cheer that I need from any of my favorite artists, TRACII GUNS and PHIL LEWIS included. Another Xmas In Hell is brilliant, fun and incredibly good. It’s sure to be a staple in the Mosqueda household in the holiday seasons to come. Well done L.A. GUNS.
