From Ozzfest.com: Judas Priest have set a December 28th release date through Epic Records for their first studio album with singer Rob Halford since 1990's Painkiller. "The band and I had meetings with our new label Epic (Sony) when we were in New York," Priest Management Coordinator Jayne Andrews writes on the group's web site. "Their support and enthusiasm was great — we really look forward to working with them all. A world tour will be following starting early in 2005." As previously reported, Judas Priest filmed their show in Barcelona, Spain last month for an upcoming live DVD, tentatively due in 2005. No further information is currently available.

Jello Biafra and his label Alternative Tentacles have dropped their lawsuit again his former Dead Kennedys bandmates, citing frustration with the US legal system. "[We] have thrown up our hands at getting any justice from the three ex-Dead Kennedys' greed-motivated lawsuits, and the shocking denial of our appeal. The court refused to hear any evidence of the many shady things they have done since the trial." For the full story check out Billboard.com.

Megadeth’s highly-anticipated album, The System Has Failed, is set for release on September 14th through Sanctuary Records. Slayer and Killswitch Engage will team up on this winter’s Jagermeister Tour, which kicks off October 27th.

Crowbar recently performed a gig in their hometown of New Orleans. Surprisingly, neither Rex Brown (Down) nor Craig Nunenmacher (Black Label Society) were part of the lineup, although they both appear on Crowbar’s forthcoming album, Life’s Blood For the Downtrodden. Instead, bassist Patrick Bruders (Goatwhore) and drummer Tommy Buckley (Soilent Green) performed, along with guitarist Steve Gibb (ex-BLS) and vocalist/guitarist Kirk Windstein (Down).

Alright, instead of rehashing the event, just go over to Metal Sludge for the story on the brawl between Glenn Danzig and North Side Kings vocalist Danny Marianinho.

Ozzfest.com has made an announcement to fans in Colorado: “Something is brewing in Denver and it isn’t beer. Metalheads in Colorado beware; someone is selling counterfeit Ozzfest passes! First off, Ozzfest DOES NOT SELL passes so if you are approached, please don’t be conned! These will not be honored at any Ozzfest locations. Tickets are available for purchase on Ozzfest.com and at Ticketmaster outlets. Please save yourself some cash and buy tickets from these locations, not on the street! There are still tickets available for several venues so get them now!”

This year’s Lollapalooza has been officially cancelled due to poor tickets sales. After coming out of its hiatus last year, many shows were cancelled then, allegedly due to poor sales also. Founder Perry Farrell (Jane’s Addiction) says, "My heart aches along with the bands, and all of our employees, whose hard work developed one of the most exciting and important tours that this nation was to see. My heart is broken."

Superjoint Ritual is starting to line up Ozzfest off-dates, which are as follows:
