04/13/04 Orlando, FL House of Blues MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball tour will feature this year Damamgeplan, Hatebreed and Drowning Pool. No dates have been announced at this time… stay tuned. Meshuggah have asked bassist Gustaf Hielm to leave the band, and are replacing him with Dick Löwgren (ex-In Flames, Arch Enemy). In other Meshuggah news, songs "Perpetual Black Second" and "Straws Pulled at Random" are appearing in the Interplay game Fallout:Brotherhood of Steel. The game is available on PlayStation®2 and Xbox®.
Ex-Anthrax vocalist Neil Turbin announces the new lineup of his band, titled after his namesake: Izzy Diaz (drums), Steve Ornest (guitar), Dario Seixas (bass) and Vernon Anderson (guitar). In support of Turbin’s recent release, Threatcon Delta, the Neil Turbin band will be announcing some West Coast gigs in the near future. Godsmack will release their latest effort, The Other Side, on March 16th via Republic/Universal. The album will feature 3 new songs, as well as acoustic versions of past favorites, including “Voodoo” and “Keep Away.” Godsmack will perform at the Boston FleetCenter immediately following the Bruins vs. Panther’s hockey game on February 23rd. Then, Godsmack hits the road with Metallica, kicking off on March 2nd. Relapse Records will release a double-disc DVD set of their ‘Contamination Festival’ on February 24th. It will include live performances from such bands as: Neurosis, Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastadon, Cephalic Carnage, Pig Destroyer, High on Fire and many more. Check out Relapse.com for more details. This year’s Jägermeister Music Tour will feature headliners Slipknot, along with Fear Factory and Chimaira, and the tour will kick off on March 30th. Slipknot’s new album is due out in March, FF’s Archetype is due out in April, and Chimaira’s The Impossibility of Reason is due out in May, all on Roadrunner Records. The dates confirmed so far, according to MTV, are as follows:

In a recent interview with ClassicRockRevisited.com, the Quiet Riot frontman makes the following statement: "At KNAC.COM they have those readers rants. If I ever do another interview with them then at the end of the interview I am going to say, ‘Kevin Dubrow is a no talent, bald, mother fucking asshole who is capitalizing on Randy Rhoads’ death. He is a real piece of shit.’ There I said it for you so don’t waste your time. Now, go and do something else.”

04/15/04 Baltimore, MD Thunderdome The Who will perform their rock-opera Tommy for a week at London’s Royal Albert Hall, from March 29th through April 2nd. Proceeds from this benefit performance will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust, a fund that The Who has been supporting for a long time. Vocalist Roger Daltrey has made the following statement, in response to his claim that cancer-stricken teens are discriminated against by Britain’s state National health Service (NHS): "It is my mission, through these shows, to end this prejudice. Without teenagers, there would be no pop industry and it is about time they are recognized by the NHS as the distinct group of people that they are." Pro-Pain are slated to release their eighth studio album, Fistful of Hate, in the US through Candlelight Records. Bassist Gary Meskil states: "Fistful of Hate is without question our strongest production and contains some of our best work. It's nice to know that we still have the same drive and passion about our music 12-years post inception and we hope that our fans share in our enthusiasm." Dave Grohl’s Probot will be featured this Saturday on MTV2’s Headbangers Ball. Ted Nugent: musician, New Yorks Times best-selling author, show host on VH1 and Outdoor Channel, third-term on the Board of Directors of the NRA… Now Uncle Ted has one more for his resume: “Bowhunting Editor” for Texas Fish & Game Magazine. Fantômas -- featuring in its ranks vocalist Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle) and drummer Dave Lombardo (Slayer, Grip, Inc.) – have released their latest effort, Delirium Cordia. In support of this release, Fantômas’ touring plans include a US tour starting March 25th in Southern California and ending in LA on April 22nd, then starting May 5th, the band will begin a 4-week European jaunt until they have to hand Dave back to Slayer. Cannibal Corpse guitarist Jack Owen has teamed up with ex-Epitaph/Resurrection drummer Kevin Astl in a brand new band called Adrift. The quintet, who play "emotive, agro hard rock," are rounded out by Mark Elm on vocals, Analia Pizzaro on guitar, and Michael Campuano on bass guitar. King’s X have announced a tour to commence in May, although no dates or support acts have been announced as of yet.
