I try to go to these Glam Shows that Poison and Co. put on every year. They are so fun, and it's cool to check out the crowd as well. After a dinner and many drinks at the Hard Rock Cafe, we venture off to the show.
Missing Faster Pussycat (we hear they went Goth), we order more drinks at the outside bar and wait for Winger to take the stage. “Madalaine” is what we hear as we arrive at our seats. Kip and his band played the favorites from the ‘80s, including “Seventeen” and “Headed For A Heartbreak.” I believe it was the whole original lineup. The music sounded like too much reverb though. Other than that, they rocked. Occasionally, I would find myself asking, "Whose that babe on the bass?” Oh yeah, it's Kip. His hair seemed darker than usual. I should mention that I see Paul Taylor quite often in the Valley... Chuy's, to be specific. He seems like a really nice guy.
CINDERELLA. What more do I need to say? They ROCK! Why aren't they coming out with new material? They are a great band. They played all favorites: “Gypsy Rose,” “Shake Me,” “Don't Know What You Got,” “Nightsongs”… Man I miss those tunes!
I was surprised to see that Eric has chopped off his hair and dyed it black, and is sporting a goatee. I thought he was Nikki Sixx!! Jeff looked like he was havin' a good ol' time. Fred and Tom always rock.
POISON: It's always good to hear their hits, like “Look What The Cat Dragged In,” “Talk Dirty To Me,” “Every Rose Has It's Thorn,” and so many more. The guys looked great, although C.C. looked a bit too skinny for my comfort. I love Bobby’s new short cropped blonde 'do. I saw him at Jerry's Deli a few Saturdays ago in LA. The side of the stage reminded me of Almost Famous! About five gorgeous girls watchin' Poison play!
You know what is really great? The bands all seem to be sincerely thankful that we the fans came out to see them!
