What a difference 48 hours makes. HUNTRESS vocalist Jill Janus posted a statement a couple of days ago indicating that she was done with HUNTRESS. Several hours later that statement was refuted by the band's guitarist. Now, Jill herself has posted the following update to the status of the band:
"Back to business! Yes, I am still the singer for HUNTRESS. I've seen some heavy shit, but so often the things I say or do are misconstrued even by those closest to me. It is the end of an era for HUNTRESS, we completed our trilogy, writing one album a year. I look forward to writing more HUNTRESS records, and working on new musical projects I've been developing. The best is yet to come!
Maybe I'm a mad P.R. genius. I mean, the HUNTRESS feeds all over social media are overflowing. Positive or negative, it's power. And I'm a heavy metal singer, not a pop star, not famous nor care to be, so the sensationalism is strange to me.
What began as a tribute to the completed HUNTRESS trilogy of albums on Napalm Records (not a resignation letter), even referencing the lyrics 'I'm packing it up' from a new song on Static ("I Want To Wanna Wake Up), has created a shitstorm. Listen to the new HUNTRESS album if ya really want to get inside my head.
Thanks to the best bandmates ever for creating music with me, I love you Blake Meahl, Eli Santana, Tyler Meahl and Spencer Jacob Grau. Paul Fig and Jim Rota, you rule. Also, Jackie Kajzer -- you are the fucking best."
