VOIVOD CONFIRMS U.S. TOUR WITH SEPULTURA
SAN FRANCISCO - Newly revived metal legends Voivod have started rehearsals in San Francisco in preparation for a U.S. tour with Brazilian metal gods Sepultura.
This will be the first tour in support of Voivod's brand new self-titled album, which features founding members Denis "Snake" Belanger (voice), Michel "Away" Langevin (drums), Denis "Piggy" D'Amour (guitar), and new bassist Jason “Jasonic” Newsted.
"Voivod lives again," said Newsted. "There is a new, bright future for this group. As a fan and musician, I have rediscovered a great, innovative band."
This trek will also be the debut of this lineup in front of live audiences. "This is the best Voivod lineup we've ever had," said Langevin. "We're looking forward to uniting with longtime, loyal followers and welcoming newfound heavy music fans."
With this in mind, the band will be performing music from all eras of their career.
"I'm psyched to have the privilege to go out on tour with seven of my favorite people in this business,” Newsted said. “This will be the real deal."
Voivod will continue performing through the summer with a Canadian tour supporting Ozzy Osbourne followed by a slot on Ozzfest.
