"Affliction" is the latest single from the quintet's upcoming opus, The Venomous (due 31 March through Despotz Records) and, according to vocalist Ronnie Nyman, "In the video we wanted to depict the affliction of being lost in the dark empty void inside of us all. A void that was meant to carry our souls, but now only sucks us into oblivion. We wanted to keep the video clean without too much focus on our persona and instead put focus on the emotion and feeling of the song."
The Venomous is a relentless tale of extinction, told with as much venomous aggression as there are intriguing and mesmerizing melodies. Memorable hooks and some of the catchiest choruses that metal has seen in decades does nothing to compromise the brutality and honesty that NIGHTRAGE is known for. The music is catchy and extreme. Lyrically the album deals with the failure of mankind and how we as human beings are racing towards our own extinction.
