Ryan Roxie's new CD release Imagine Your Reality is rich in strong, well written songs with formidable verses and catchy choruses. Not being new to the Rock N Roll scene, Roxie has played with bands and artists such as Alice Cooper, Slash and Gilby Clarke.
Ryan Roxie's strong and diverse song writing capabilities really shine in this 10 song CD. "Big Rock Show"'s huge sound is a motivating opener that sets the stage for the ride you are about to take.
One great song after another, Imagine Your Reality is perfect "Going for a Drive" kind of music.
With special guest vocals by CHEAP TRICK lead singer Robin Zander on "California Man", Ryan Roxie's upbeat, vintage-esque version is highly seasoned and fresh.
"To Live And Die In LA" is straight ahead Rock N Roll and so is "Ut Oh Song" once you are past the twangy intro.
This is a flavorful collection of songs, from Punk Rock "Nevermind Me" to Pop Rock "Me Generation" and ending with Alternative Rock "God Put A Smile On Your Face" with it's cool acoustic rhythm guitar.
He put a smile on my face - I dug it.
Song # 1 - "Big Rock Show"
"Big Rock Show" is a perfect opener, grabbing you with high energy in your face Rock N Roll right out of the gate. True to it's name with big sound and bigger attitude, "Big Rock Show" is a motivating opener with a solid Rock beat and infectious vocal.
Song # 2 - "Over And Done"
A Punk Rock sensibility pushes "Over And Done" with an upbeat vibe that will have you rocking out. Fresh danceable Rock, "Over And Done" is an exhilarating little tune that will leave you wanting more.
Song # 3 - "California Man"
Roxie pays homage to CHEAP TRICK with his cover of "California Man". This track includes special guest vocals by none other than lead singer Robin Zander. "California Man" is positive Rock N Roll with a vintage edge.
Song # 4 - "To Live And Die In LA"
"To Live And Die In LA" is forceful straight ahead Rock N Roll that shreds all the way through with a fiery guitar solo in the middle.
Song # 5 - "Ut Oh Song"
"Ut Oh Song"'s twangy guitar intro entices you into another kick ass Rock song. Tasty guitar licks emphasize the chorus. "Ut Oh Song" feels like an old pair of Levis and worn leather boots on a Friday night.
Song # 6 - "Me Generation"
Heavy Pop Rock guitar riffs make "Me Generation" easy to listen to. It is an energetic song with memorable lyrics.
Song # 7 - "Look Me In The Eye"
"Look Me In The Eye" has a groovy cool alternative sound with lots of juicy guitar work on the verses.
Song # 8 - "Hearts In Trouble"
Reminiscent of a Dick Dale mixed with Elvis, "Hearts In Trouble" will make you feel like dancing. Woes of love controlled by your heart instead of your brain. "Hearts In Trouble" stays with you.
Song # 9 - "Nevermind Me"
Punk rock rhythm aggressively sets the tone for the intro on "Nevermind Me". One of my favorite songs on the CD. Radio friendly "Nevermind Me" could go Rock and Alternative.
Song # 10 - "God Put A Smile Upon Your Face"
The acoustic guitar is dreamy and melodic with a strong Rock vocal as we ease into the last song on the CD. "God Put A Smile Upon Your Face" will put a smile on your face just like it did on mine. I dug it.
