For Immediate Release:

New Jersey’s SYMPHONY X Secures Support Slot on QUEENSRŸCHE 2004 Tour

New Jersey’s own Symphony X has been touring endlessly to promote their newest release, the vibrant, thought-provoking Inside Out Music America debut The Odyssey. The band has toured the world for many years, and now they are making their return to American soil. Having headlined the first evening of 2004’s March Metal Meltdown in New Jersey, the band has been announced as the main support for Queensrÿche’s 2004 tour. The two band’s styles perfectly complement each other in vicious harmony; Queensrÿche’s sophisticated elegance melding with Symphony X’s savage grace.

Currently composing material for their new album for Inside Out, the band was not expecting another tour so soon, but immediately jumped at the opportunity. The band’s most recent album The Odyssey is an 8-track masterwork of intelligent, classically-influenced heavy metal music unlike anything America has ever produced, and quickly became the best-selling SoundScanned release in the history of InsideOut Music. The album also caused Guitar World Magazine to acknowledge Michael Romeo acknowledged as one of the Top 100 Guitarists of All Time! Sweeping melodies and technical prowess define Symphony X’s grandiose approach, while the dexterous & emotive vocals of (Sir) Russell Allen complement each composition immaculately. The Odyssey also features an adventurous 24-minute, seven-part epic that shares the album’s namesake, a dynamic piece based on Homer’s heroic poem depicting man’s undying will despite all tribulations – an ideal paralleling Symphony X’s own history. Following the tour, Symphony X will head back to the studio to complete their next sonic sculpture for a summer release.

In related news, Inside Out Music America has recently repackaged & reissued the band’s first four releases, each now containing special video interview segments. More information on the titles available here: http://www.insideoutmusic.com/bands/band-symphonyx.php.

I heard that Ryche is touring with Kid Rock. They all smoked a big fattie and decided to become a Pink Floyd "tribute" band.

EGX500 - 4/16/2004 1:10:41 PM
Nadds you may be right on the third Cd issue. many time an artist has a contract for 3 Cds or albums, then they are looking to be resigned.. so thye usually do try ot excel on the 3rd one , so other labels may take note.. at least thats the way it was, no band got more then a 3 album deal..

EGX500 - 4/16/2004 12:41:47 PM
I heard a cool tune by a band called Flaw the other night.. anybody know anything about this band Flaw??

EGX500 - 4/16/2004 12:31:43 PM
You may be right nadds.. and very bad bands usually peak on thier first CD, since they use songs they have worked on thir whole lives.. finally get the CD Out.. and thats really all they ever had.. Thats why for as uch as some critisize Ryche for "evolving" I think it keeps them very fresh.. and it keeps the fans guessing and also allows the artist to grow and expand rather then being put in the "BOX" of having to play to their fasn wishs of more of the same!! Ryche and Geoff have spoken about that concept. Ryche srtruggled for identity because of this. They arent really a Rock, Prog, Metal band... they are really all those things.. and then again, they are just sorta unique to themselves.. Ryche really doesnt remind me of any other band.. Im Proud that really Only Ryche and Metallica ( I saw and met Metallica many times, I even ahd a beer with Cliff,!! )

Nadds - 4/16/2004 12:01:05 PM
Cool EGX....ya I do have the LiveCrime on vhs, but I think I saw a DVD of it last week...thats a keeper for sure dude. Im a huge Pink Floyd fan too and I didnt know that about them and Ryche meeting. I love concept albums and I wish they could follow up to mindcrime with a really good one. It seems like so many bands have what ya might call a "3rd album syndrome". They seem to climax at the 3rd album. This is disputable of course but Metallica master of puppets their best....and 3rd album. queensryche mindcrime 3rd. Megadeth Rust in peace. 3rd album (awesome guitar work here). and so on.....I dunno....could be wrong.

EGX500 - 4/16/2004 11:40:49 AM
and then there is a video of the 1991 tour with the whole OMC set played live and taped .. called Operation Livecrime.. that is a great video of those great shows...

EGX500 - 4/16/2004 11:37:59 AM
Nadds, also ( if you can find it) there is a movie type video called Video: Mindcrime, that is the characters in Mindcrime with the full story, and the band playing breaking into the story line.. back in the day.. everyone would yell at Geoff.. WHO KILLED MARY!!! and he would jsut smile.. or laugh..its still unsolved..

EGX500 - 4/16/2004 11:35:49 AM
Nadds.. its very interesting that Guthrie who was a Pink Floyd producer worked on THE WARNING album. Much later, when Ryche had perfected the multi-media show, Pink Floyd approached Ryche to talk about the technology Ryche had used and perfected, Floyd wanted to mimick some of the Ryche show!! I know that Floyd and Peter Gabriel are both outspoken in their love of Ryche, along with the guys in Disturbed..

Nadds - 4/16/2004 9:17:15 AM
Cool....I when I saw them the second time on their "evening with" tour to promote MindCrime, it was the first time I ever saw a band use video screens. I know other bands have done it like Pink Floyd etc. but it was very cool and very well done. It helped me understand the whole concept album better too.

EGX500 - 4/16/2004 8:03:36 AM
Great Denim!!! Im looking forward to hearing the set list.. we will be seeing them in NYC next weekend..

EGX500 - 4/16/2004 8:02:00 AM
Hi Nadds!!! Yea... I think of it this way: Ryche is one of the veryv ery best live acts EVER. They really rock out, and the drama of their songs really comes out during the live show , Geoff is an incredible front man, I think hes the very best ever, he becomes almost a character on stage, is he " The Ryche Front man" or is he " the character , the observer, of the the songs theme". whats great abotu Rcyhe is how personal the songs are to the audience and the feeling in the crowd which adores this mega-talented, talented songwriters. If you have never seen the band, this is a great chance to see something SPECIAL. This is not a "typical" band in any way, shape, or form..

Denim_Justice - 4/16/2004 6:46:01 AM
2 hours 15 minutes...a LOT of the mindcrime album. anyone who saw them on the last tour(last year) which i did, this show is better yet! Pamela moore was great. spend the 40 bucks and go to this if you were debating. it was a lot of fun.

Denim_Justice - 4/15/2004 9:50:37 AM
with pamela moore touring with them EGX you have to be right...i will find out tonight in Detroit!

Nadds - 4/15/2004 8:47:49 AM
Wutsup EGX, true dat !!!

EGX500 - 4/15/2004 7:28:14 AM
For those who are not informed. Ryche is touring only a few major cities in the USA before leaving for Europe, this tour will have a long Operation Mindcrime suite in in it, and it will be their long 2hour plus show. The DT tour over the summer was not thier long set, but a summer festival short show. THIS part of the tour will KICK ASS, those who have seen Ryche live know the band is one of the best live acts in Rock.
