New Jersey’s SYMPHONY X Secures Support Slot on QUEENSRŸCHE 2004 Tour
New Jersey’s own Symphony X has been touring endlessly to promote their newest release, the vibrant, thought-provoking Inside Out Music America debut The Odyssey. The band has toured the world for many years, and now they are making their return to American soil. Having headlined the first evening of 2004’s March Metal Meltdown in New Jersey, the band has been announced as the main support for Queensrÿche’s 2004 tour. The two band’s styles perfectly complement each other in vicious harmony; Queensrÿche’s sophisticated elegance melding with Symphony X’s savage grace.
Currently composing material for their new album for Inside Out, the band was not expecting another tour so soon, but immediately jumped at the opportunity. The band’s most recent album The Odyssey is an 8-track masterwork of intelligent, classically-influenced heavy metal music unlike anything America has ever produced, and quickly became the best-selling SoundScanned release in the history of InsideOut Music. The album also caused Guitar World Magazine to acknowledge Michael Romeo acknowledged as one of the Top 100 Guitarists of All Time! Sweeping melodies and technical prowess define Symphony X’s grandiose approach, while the dexterous & emotive vocals of (Sir) Russell Allen complement each composition immaculately. The Odyssey also features an adventurous 24-minute, seven-part epic that shares the album’s namesake, a dynamic piece based on Homer’s heroic poem depicting man’s undying will despite all tribulations – an ideal paralleling Symphony X’s own history. Following the tour, Symphony X will head back to the studio to complete their next sonic sculpture for a summer release.
In related news, Inside Out Music America has recently repackaged & reissued the band’s first four releases, each now containing special video interview segments. More information on the titles available here: http://www.insideoutmusic.com/bands/band-symphonyx.php.

METALP - 4/6/2004 4:56:49 PM I really don't know what had happen to Queensryche in the last 8 years or so, but they are one hell of a live group to go and see perform these days. I just hope some day they can create a kick-ass record to follow the Promised Land ( Their last good album). i will be seeing them in a few weeks.

zefus666 - 4/6/2004 4:23:54 PM How can you call Iron Maiden a bunch of pussies? Queensryche has cited that bands like Maiden influenced them and who do you think Geoff Tate was influenced by?
fizzgig - 4/6/2004 2:13:52 PM Wrong EGX, as usual. I DO know something. I just don't agree with you, is all. You can't seem to handle it. But it's nice to see you've found some friends to cluster-fuck with here.
Monsterman81 - 4/6/2004 12:57:05 PM thank god their not carrying dream theatre with them. BORING1
EGX500 - 4/6/2004 12:54:11 PM Now isnt the singer in the Darkness,,,, isnt that Labrie with Austin Powers fake teeth?
EGX500 - 4/6/2004 12:29:54 PM yes.. the Gayness with the super hit.. " a thing called crap"
EGX500 - 4/6/2004 12:28:46 PM Nadds... You are so on target! Maiden quit the otur with Ryche in 1989, because Geoff was on fire, and Bruce didnt want to follow him!! what a bunch of pussys Maiden was.. yes, Ryche is comfy with who they are. If SymX plays faster or whatever, Ryches fasn dont care... we LOVE RYCHE, nothing will change that
EGX500 - 4/6/2004 12:26:41 PM Nadds!! Right on!!
Nadds - 4/6/2004 12:26:00 PM It just says alot for QR to be taking SX on tour with them....its safe to say that SX have more in the skill department and QR are not stupid. They are comfortable enough with who they are to not care and to give a deserving band some good exposure !! Do you think Metallica would take a band with more skill with THEM on the road?? hahahah dont think so....
Nadds - 4/6/2004 12:17:13 PM Much better then that new shit out there ...how about "THE GAYNESS" PERMISSION TO POOOOOOOOOP !!!!!
Nadds - 4/6/2004 12:11:59 PM Cool EGX, ya my favorite part of QR is their lyrics !! I hate brainless music....gimme gimme good lovin bullshit !! The words make you think !!
flashd - 4/6/2004 12:09:01 PM does anyone think Russ Allens sounds like Jeff Scott Soto from Yngwie's Rising Force days? that's who i thought it was when i first hear symphony x.great band nonetheless, keep the progmetal flag flyin...
EGX500 - 4/6/2004 12:06:43 PM Geoff is a great guy!! Ive seen him go out of his way after a long show to meet disabled fans, he made specail point to meet them..they write touching songs that are humanistic, and Geoff walks the walk, he made sure those disabled fans got to meet him ( im sure those fans loved the song Best I can, since it deasl with the issue of being confined to a wheelchair and persevering)
The guy is great, great vocalist and song writer, they dont write a BS, like chicks, booze, and being a tool..
EGX500 - 4/6/2004 12:03:22 PM cool Nadds... thats a good word to describe Geoff and the guys in Ryche ( classy).. they are good guys.. and very nice people. They are the GOOD guys!!
