![]() MONOLITH ON THE MESA Announce After Party Lineup ![]() By Larry Petro, News Monkey Friday, May 3, 2019 @ 2:14 PM ![]()
Festival promoter Dano Sanchez has been booking LORD DYING shows in the Taos area for years and says "I always love working with them. I love their energy live and they are great guys. Year of the Cobra is another amazing live band. I’ve worked with them over the years and am looking forward to having both bands be a part what we're doing at the festival this year."
The festival line-up is focused on heavy riff-rock acts from across multiple sub-genres including stoner rock, heavy psych, doom metal, sludge, drone, and retro rock. There will be interactive art installations and visual projections throughout the festival grounds which will compliment the mind bending sounds of the bands.
The unique aspect of this event is certainly the high desert mesa location. The venue offers a full view of the Sangre de Christo mountains. The starry night sky is life altering on its own, but coupled with the sonic vibrations, and creative atmosphere the art installations offer, it becomes truly transcendent.
The interactive art installations feature work by Christian Ristrow and Christina Sporrong of Robochrist industries and JP Rodman, an innovator in the bike builder world, will be exhibiting custom bike builds that are unrivaled in the world. The Mad Alchemist Liquid Light Show will illuminate the open air amphitheatre with an astounding 21st century light show each evening.
The Taos Mesa Brewing venue offers close proximity to the Rio Grande gorge, the Taos Pueblo, the Gorge Bridge
and many outdoors activities including rafting, hiking in the desert or in the mountains, mountain biking, soaking in the natural hot springs, not to mention visiting all the unique establishments in Taos.
The festival features an indoor stage (400 people capacity) and an outdoor “earthship” amphitheatre which holds 1,500 people. This allows an intimate experience for guests and performers. Music will begin daily at 11:30 a.m. and will alternate between the indoor and outdoor stages. Hotel Luna Mystica is located adjacent to the venue and offers guests camping and the exclusive “Monolith Experience” in the form of a custom, vintage trailer park. Vendors can be found on both properties and will include artisans, record labels, food trucks and more.
