ALICE COOPER
Breadcrumbs EP
earMUSIC
There is no denying of the foundation Alice Cooper and his many collaborators lay down for each album they release, just like he’s been doing on concert stages around the world, he emphasizes his symbolic place in the world of horror rock throughout every song he presents. He sings of largely scaled total destruction and the strange affection of mental hysterias which of course, always sounds fantastic doing it. Cooper’s voice has matured exceedingly well throughout his years of life and it’s no shock that he can still growl out a melody and make everyone love him even more. This wicked EP Breadcrumbs is 22 min long and simply “LOUD AND FAST” just as he states in one of the first epic songs "Detroit City 2020", which to me is basically a restored upbeat new version of the famous "Detroit City" track from 2003. Either way, this song is pretty legit and definitely kicks off the EP with an old-style fashion with thrill.
Next we have "Go Man Go", a classic pure rock n roll style jam that you would obviously expect from Alice Cooper. I mean honestly, so far I am LOVING this EP. So the eager and excited little ol’ me tunes into the next cover song originally from Bob Seger, "East Side Story" which totally gets some worthy action though, with the marvelous vague guitars and Alice’s vocals shining through.. I mean come on, it’s perfectly done... In fact Cooper sounds excellent throughout the whole thing, not faulted whatsoever.
Also included are covers of "Sister Anne" by MC5, "Your Mamma Won’t Like Me" by Suzi Quatro and "Devil With a Blue Dress" by Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels. Alice is joined on the recordings by MC5’s Wayne Kramer, jazz lovely singer Paul Randolph, previous GRAND FUNK RAILROAD member Mark Farner, and former Detroit Wheels drummer Johnny Badanjek and Mick Collins.
As always, Alice Cooper does not disappoint with this release. If you haven’t done so already… SHAME!
Just kidding, but really though.. Check it out ASAP! You’ll thank me later.
