Dave Mustaine States 2005 Plan

Dave Mustaine, via his official website Megadeth.com, has posted a New Year’s greeting with the forthcoming plans for Megadeth. He and his band plan to tour Europe, possibly Japan and Australia, with a “victory lap” around the US. He’s is calling 2005, Megadeth’s 20th anniversary, the last year for the band…
Here’s the posting straight from Mr. Mustaine:
“Droogies!
“While 2005 brought much suffering and sadness to many people at its end, I hope for most of us here that were separated from such tragedy, that you had a terrific 2004.
“My heart still goes out to the Abbott family, the families who have lost loved ones in the ongoing war in Iraq and Afghanistan, and also the many millions of people around the world that had their family or a friend touched or worse by the Tsunami.
“Trivial as it may seem after saying that, I look forward to great 2005 with you all, near and far. As this final Megadeth record and tour run its course, I have met or "re-met" many of you Droogs out there; some new, some old, some crusty.
“Megadeth plans on doing the Euro/UK tour as you know, then tentatively to Japan and Oz, and hopefully South America, to be finished with one last victory lap of the States this summer.
“Since this is the final year of Megadeth, it is also fitting to remind you that it has been twenty of the best years (and hardest) of my life. Yes, KIMB came out just a wee bit less than 20 years ago and by this May, it will have been our 20th anniversary. It is also fitting that a complete lyric book come out of all my songs, which will be out in the late spring/early summer.
“On a good note, I got to wish David Ellefson Happy New Years last night (I called him). Nothing more to report there.
“This month we, Glen, Shawn, Jimmy, and myself will play a 30th anniversary party for ESP, as well as us all roaming around Winter NAMM. I know I will at least see El Duce there! Also, there will be a new video shot for ‘Of Mice And Men’ since it is going to be the next single.
“Then it is off to Ireland, and I cannot wait to do this last tour of Euro/UK, especially with Diamond Head. We are still trying to add 8 more shows to the end so that it is a round number of 30 shows over there and will keep you posted.
“My move is almost over and shortly after that, I imagine the creative juices will start flowing for what GOD holds in store for me next with my career.
“It is with great emotion that I write this post. I feel I can never tell you what you all have meant to me over the last twenty years. Especially people like Dave McRobb, all my beloved SLs, Heather for her columns, Doug Brooks and George Broadfoot from years before, Brian Kruger, Mike Graben and all of the old web crew, and each and every one of you Droogs new and old.
“Please make sure to say hello if you see me out on the ‘Killing Road’ as I would like to thank you personally for your support over my career.
deth18 - 9/12/2005 10:46:55 PM For anybody who likes Metallica then you like Megadeth because Dave Mustaine is Metallica you bonafide idiots. Who do you think started Metallica & the sound that they incorporated album after album except for maybe St.Angers. Metallica finally tries to play their own music & it's a piece of shit. So there you finally hear the truth. Dave is as much Metallica as he is Megadeth. Besides, who else could write masterpieces like "HOLY WARS" & 'HANGAR 18' which has guitar solo after guitar solo? So all you fuckheads out there who think Dave Mustaine is a nobody sit your asses down & really listen to similarities between Metallica & MEGADETH. It is all Dave's doing. Hope to see you soon Dave, Byrd from Michigan
TheScorpion2 - 7/28/2005 6:24:18 PM Dave was beter off with Jackson one thay sound beter andtwo thay look beter
TheScorpion2 - 7/28/2005 6:19:10 PM Daves music has ben getin beter album after album and the last one was the best an d after this year he want to quit when hes just in his prime that is one big load of shit
Newfoundlander - 3/2/2005 4:39:02 PM if you criticize Mustaine you put down music u little Mainlander fags, for fuck sakes by,get da cock out of your throats and comb your fuckin hair by,
happyinslavery - 2/24/2005 6:24:08 AM mustaine is one of the greatest guitarist and songwriter that has graced metal music. all those know-fucking-it-all cocksuckers who think he's a washed up has been can go and get themselves molested by MJ. i do agree that him leaving metallica was the best think that happened to metal music as it gave us MEGADETH. THSF is a great album that metallica can only dream of recording now. however i just cant get the fact why the hell he wants to quit now after such a great recovery. however i am a big MEGADETH fan and i wish dave the best in all his endeavours. THANKS AND GOOD LUCK, DAVE!!!!!
hangar19 - 2/12/2005 1:03:37 AM Mustaine truly is the founder of american thrash metal.cheers dave!
VicRattlehead502 - 1/19/2005 8:37:38 AM Wookie-X: Does your mommy know you're using her computer and typing bad words on it? Check it out you pole-smoker... If you're not happy with Megadeth's music, that's one thing. But calling Dave a has been? That's just ignorant. TSHF was VERY well recieved by fans and music critics alike. Unlike St. Anger. I'd like to see you write a DAMN thing that's even REMOTELY as technical as the rhythm for Kick the Chair. Name *ONE* band that has? (One that is as much of a household name as Megadeth. I'm not talking some underground cookie-monster singer band.) Maybe if you can learn to stop dragging your knuckles, you can pick up a guitar... in about 200 years you'll be good enough to play something that even comes CLOSE to resembling somehting as tehcnical as ANYTHING Megadeth has written. Good luck finding someone to toss your salad jack-ass!! Although I hear 1 in 5 children are solicited for sex on the internet... so there's luck for you still.
robie - 1/17/2005 8:00:11 PM Megadeth is one of the founders of the original 80's metal bands, and Dave was in Metallica and several other great bands before that. MEGADETH rock on!!!
partsgoddess - 1/17/2005 1:21:19 PM I have to give some credit to Dave. He's finally faced his demons & he's dealing with it. The guy deserves a break. Besides, I don't see Dave just fading away. He'll be around.
Totems - 1/17/2005 10:20:43 AM Just stay away from Marty.
GhostPenis88 - 1/17/2005 3:21:38 AM Pepsiscores: how is it that u bitch about mustaine getting over something in the past yet you STILL can't get over the napster situation.
updairons31 - 1/16/2005 6:37:46 PM WHATS UP WIT THAT !!! AFTER ALL THESE YEARS OF BEHAVING LIKE AN ASSHOLE, NOW HE'S SENTIMENTAL. LATER DAVE I WON'T MISS U .....
JanDeth - 1/16/2005 4:18:36 PM Dave's already got davemustaine.com in the wings, and has stated repeatedly he's going to continue to record and tour, in the same vein as what's on The System Has Failed...the best Deth in years! He's even been interviewed saying he plans to play old 'tallica live after this tour, along with whatever the hell else he wants to do. Dave fuckin rules, and those that can't deal with it can get bent...with love bwhahaha
GirlWithGuitar - 1/16/2005 12:33:34 PM Reply to: robie - 1/13/2005 11:20:19 AM
Say it is'nt so.I mean Megadeth the legend coming to an end. That's like Lemmy quitting right now. You've come too far for this!
I agree with you totally Robie. My husband Spider of SMF420 says he'll quit playing when he quits sucking air. We also think Dime was lucky actually to die doing what he loved. Dave you have brought a lot to metal....(all you whiners about Dave so soon forget)...But quitting is pissing people off cause you are awesome. Maybe you just need a break.
knaclistener - 1/16/2005 10:44:10 AM It's too late. Repeat everything I say. MEGADETH is not a soap opera. Thanks for Y2KV Dave.
