Nevermore Complete Recording Process For This Godless Endeavor; Remixed Enemies of Reality Now Available

The Seattle-based quintet Nevermore recently completed the recording process for their highly anticipated new album, This Godless Endeavor, at Backstage Studios in England with legendary producer Andy Sneap (Arch Enemy, Killswitch Engage, Opeth). The highly anticipated new offering is currently set for a summer release. This will mark the group’s first recording with guitarist Steve Smyth (ex-Testament).

Nevermore will embark on massive six-week summer festival tour, dubbed the Gigantour, alongside Megadeth, Dream Theater, Fear Factory and The Dillinger Escape Plan in late July. Warrel Dane (vocals) further describes his thoughts on the new album and upcoming tour: “We have completed the recording process for This Godless Endeavor and Andy Sneap will finish mixing and mastering the record this week. It was a great experience working with Sneap again and he has really outdone himself on this record. We are also really psyched up for Gigantour. It's great to part of a tour that is focused on musicianship instead of current trends. This summer is going to be great.”

In other news, the new version of the group’s critically acclaimed 2003 album Enemies of Reality, remixed by Sneap, is now available. It was repackaged with altered cover artwork, two promotional video clips (the title track and “I, Voyager”) and a live video of the title track performed at Germany’s Wacken Open Air festival this past summer.

The remixed Enemies of Reality will replace the existing version of the album in stores. Fans who have already purchased the record and want to hear the new edition can special order it from the CenturyMedia.com web shop, where the CD itself will be sold individually (i.e., without jewel case and artwork) for $5, including shipping. The disc will be mailed in a CD sleeve; a link to a special website containing the downloadable revised artwork will be included in order confirmation e-mails.

Since you asked, I'll tell ya! I'm going through one of my peroids phase shifts in music. Currently, I'm country-fried. I've been listening to Shooter jennings and Big & Rich lately. I happen to like green Day, but don't think Billie Joe's a hot shit guitarist. Would it kill them to go beyond barre chords. Throw me a fucking bone and do a solo, please. Korn sucks. I just don't understand their appeal, though the doggie video was kinda funny. I've not been ateenager for a very long time. I'm just a retard suffering from arrested development. Jake E. Lee is simply the epitome of the loser guitar fucks of the 80s. He shot his moon-barking wad, his mascara ran, and now his guitar cord endorsements won't even pay the bill for his web site (with all 7 hits on it during the last 4 years).

I don't understand the obsessive ragging on Jake E Lee. He's a great guitarist, did some good stuff with Badlands and Ozzy. What's your point? As for Nevermore, lots of people on this site are looking forward to their new album, myself included.

Blobber: Jeff Loomis, Steve Vai and Jake E. Lee still own Billie Joe Armstrong's ass on guitar even though "American Idiot" was a decent enough album but in this case Green Day just got lucky. And seeing as you've ragged on pretty much every band on almost every current article here how about giving us an insight as to what kind of bands you consider relevant? And I'm pretty certain Korn wouldn't be among them although seeing as your mentality is that of a 15-year old cholesterol-laden time bomb who equates rebellion with hanging out at the mall and fantasizing over My Chemical Romance and Norma Jean I'm prone to assume otherwise. But prove me wrong.

Highly anticipated album? Maybe by them and their families. Go home and put on your Badlands CD, you losers...Jake E. Lee...HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Schiesskopf - 4/19/2005 6:33:01 PM
Jeff Loomis is probably the best unknown guitarist around...fuckin amazing.

Schiesskopf - 4/19/2005 6:31:00 PM
Agreed, Totems...Neon Black is fucking INSANE...Dead Heart is awesome too. and Blobs...Korn IS metal, wether ya like it or not, and Green Day is a lame Sex Pistols ripoff. As much of an asshole as Vai is, Billy Joe couldn't carry his jock. Dogs, I agree with you too...damn near ALL good bands are underrated, and garbage like Green Day sells records....something's wrong here.

trevor12 - 4/19/2005 4:50:05 PM
Will do Totems, thanks for the suggestion!

Totems - 4/19/2005 12:01:11 PM

I picked up their last CD a couple months ago, on a recommendation from someone on a KNAC board (and having heard a couple songs on this website), I was blown away. Really great stuff, excellent guitar work. I'll get this next CD for sure.

DOGSBOLLOCKS - 4/18/2005 12:48:41 PM
Scheisskopf...ALL good bands are underrated...it's only the crap ones that get played constantly on MTV and the radio stations and written about all the time... Come on man, real HM is an underground movement.... crap outfits like MUTTaLICKa and all the teenybopper rigs just sold out to get popular or were crap in the first place!!!

Totems - 4/17/2005 12:06:45 PM
Ya Dave did produce the first record. Also a young Jeff Loomis tryed out for Megadeth after the PSBWB guys were fired. As for Wally talking to Dave much I read in a interview were he has not talked to Mega Dave in years.

NeonBlack156 - 4/16/2005 8:17:30 PM
Didnt Dave Mustaine help produce Sanctuarys " Refuge Denied " Has Warrel and Dave spoke much since? Anyone know?

NeonBlack156 - 4/16/2005 8:15:54 PM
Can you purchase the remix of " Enemies of Reality " in stores yet? If so, where? I have been looking for the past month and have so far been unsuccessful. Andy Sneap is a great fit for Nevermore, I have followed Warrel and the other guys ever since the Sanctuary days. I am so stoked to see them play in Southern Cali. Are there any other Nevermore fans in the Huntington Beach area. I love this band becuase they do not follow trends. I just watched the Metallica special...Monster something or other and thoguht it was so lame to hear that they didn't want guitar solos becuase that was not the popular thing at the time. Thank you Nevermore for helping to keep real heavy metal alive....long live the guitar solo!!!!
