Trouble Live at the Nite Cap i

REVIEW BY: Gene Kulin
There was still a bit of chill in the air as Trouble descended upon their hometown of Chicago in order to play a one off gig at the Nite Cap. The band blasted away and showed what a veteran metal band could do!
Taking the stage after warm up band Smoke, Trouble opened with "RIP," before blasting into "Touch the Sky." "Plastic Green Head" was next followed by "Sinner's Fame." The classic "Assassin" was next and the crowd was cheering the vintage Trouble put upon them.
Next up were two new songs "Going Home" and "Pictures." Both were in the classic Trouble vein and I can't wait to hear them on the new album.
Trouble then dipped into their back catalog of classic songs and played "Pray for the Dead," "Endtime" and "Run To The Light." "Fear" was up next and the band was really cooking as they segued into "Memories Garden." "All Is Forgiven" was next followed by "Revelation." "End Of My Days" was up next and the crowd was pumping their fists along with the great song. "Psychotic Reaction" closed out the set and the band made a brief exit.
The band came back on and played the classic "Tempter." The crowd then sang Happy Birthday for guitar player Rick Wartell, and the band launched into "The Wickedness Of Man." Truly a great show!

savoy - 6/22/2005 2:51:54 PM WEll said Abbath !! But to those who think the late 60's and early 70's were all HIPPIE LOVE IN'S .. ARE WRONG.. May i suggest the movie GIMME SHELTER !! I saw BLACK SABBATH on there first tour of America in 71 in Detriot Mich.. And it was hard to get into the show when you had biker gangs - Dope dealers - Just waiting to Explode....The music was raw and loud . Let me say this to the younger folks.. YOU May have missed the great bands in there prime ...But there was a lot of tension as well in those day's... HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO TO A SHOW TODAY.. AND HAVE THE DRUNKEN HELL'S ANGEL'S AS YOU SECURITY.
Abbath1000 - 6/21/2005 5:56:13 PM First off Blobber,
you are correct when you say the music business is about business, but I would caution you about slamming a bunch of hippies dancing in a field. They did nothing to you and as far as the hippization of the country you are way off base there as well.
Besides what's so wrong with peace love and understanding? It's what the metal movement came from.
There's allsorts of that stuff in Metal (Trouble included). Don't let the volume and agression of the music fool you. Most metal is either based in eascapism or mirrors, not promotes, the violence in our society.
Ever listen to WAR PIGS?
Take a listen to the Trouble tracks @

and see what you think.
Hope you like the boys from Chicago.
Blobber - 6/17/2005 7:34:59 PM While music from Savoy's era may have been somewhat less homogenized and iamage-oriented, the business of rock has always been just that a business. Once in a while, you'd get some freak like Zappa or psychotics like King Crimson, who obviously cared more about "art" than business. However, I'm sure Frank and Fripp and the boys liked being able to pay their bills as much as U2, SOAD, or anybody else. It's all about money, otherwise artists would play for free, give away merchandise, and not bitch and moan about Napster, etc. Just the other day, I was watching The Grateful Dead Movie on PBS. I wanted to bitch slap all the stoner hippie freaks spasmodically dancing to their LSD and THC-fueled visions. If Garcia and the boys had spent more time rocking and less time drugging, they could have morphed into a heavy metal supernaught. Instead, they contributed to the hippization of our society. In Franklin's tower, there hangs a bell...ring it mofos, and we'll all go to hell!
scrapmetal - 6/17/2005 6:14:50 PM Blobber,Savoy is the only motherfucker that posts on this site that remembers when music was music & not a market driven, video ruined piece of crap. You cant appreciate the present until you honor the past.As for D-Shortwave,please seek mental health counseling soon. With the right medication, you can channel your obviously educated brain in the right direction. What the fuck are you babbling about when you post!??
savoy - 6/16/2005 2:47:58 PM ShortWave there is a song Trouble do called BASARDS WILL PAY !!! IT's off there debut lp PSALM 9 ..YOU need to here this !! I grew up during the Vietnam war .. Never served nor have my children. AND THEY NEVER WILL !!! But back to Trouble .. I can tell your young' BUT TROUBLE COME'S IN MANY WAY's..
Abbath1000 - 6/16/2005 1:24:30 PM Hey - good to hear you come around Blobber! The only problem with Trouble is that their Def American releases are out of print for now. I hope they will get reissued soon. It's too bad that dshortwave didn't get to spend more time in Chicago rather than outside of it @ Great Lakes Navel base. I think he would've really liked it. Bush sucks.
DSHORTWAVE - 6/16/2005 2:44:22 AM Most of the Navy members that I met were totally cool. On the other hand , while there were a few pleasant exceptions, most of the officers that I met were major jerks. I strongly support all of our troops and thank those that have actuakky ended uo in combat and lived to tell about it. Also , to any of you that may currently be in Iraq or have recently been in returned from Iraq , without giving out any strategic information , what is and or was it actually like over there?
DSHORTWAVE - 6/16/2005 2:34:09 AM I may be out of the loop some but I had never heard of the band Trouble and while I have not read the interview yet , I have been to Chicago before in 1987, it will be interesting to hear their perspective of Chicago , if they mention and as many of you may and probably know by now , I hated Chicago , or , I am the only one getting involved on every KNAC board. Also , do any of you know , if , Leather_Love is the individual that used to go as Leatherfaceless also is cobain is with us/Lovebuzz still going as Lovebuzz and if so , would you please mention it on the page that is supposed to be about Sports and is but I and others also discuss other topics with. As for the individual that hasn't been there , I would reccomend checking it out in person because it is an interesting city but all that I got to see of it , except when I arrived in and left Chicago was Great Lakes Naval Training Center and while I hated my breief stint in The U.S. Navy and never ended up in combat or ended up on a ship or in a subarine , I should of followed my heart and went to L.A. Maybe one day I will actually get to L.A. though ! My entry level seperation may of been a good thing thought since I probably would of ended up in the first Persian Gulf War and would have been killed if I had stayed in The U.S. Navy. Realize that many of you thinking that this is the 2nd U.S. War VS Iraq , it is actually the third. Bill Clinton breifly sent U.S. Troops to Iraq when he was U.S. President , so it is techinacally our third war with Iraq and while I strongly support our U.S. Troops and agreed with President and still support Bush more than I ever did or would of Kerry , I think that it is time for The U.S. Troops and use atomic bombs on the entire Middle East and teach them a major lesson for having messed up all of our lives! I strongly oppose Globalization too. It is destroying The U.S.A. overall and I fear but hope that I am wrong on this, leading towards a One World Government similar to that that Adolph Hitler had in mind.
The_Space_Lord - 6/15/2005 7:54:07 PM Blobber: Holy crap, a band we can both agree on liking....
Blobber - 6/15/2005 6:15:02 PM Ok...damn it! I, the Blobber was wrong. I gave this band a listen, and they're pretty good. That said, Jim Rome is still a soccer homo.
savoy - 6/15/2005 3:36:34 PM Blobber !!! Some times you wish the past was the present..Especially in this world we live in today.. AS for the band TROUBLE in the 80s !!! There music spoke truth to every hang up a human can ever have be it this or that . One day YOU'LL Listen to MANIC FRUSTRATION . AND GO > I SEE MYSELF IN THAT?.. And dont be Afraid to get OLD.....THE MUSIC IS BETTER !!
Abbath1000 - 6/14/2005 11:41:07 PM Blobber - who said anything about the past? The future is now and the future is TROUBLE. A new album, a tour - it's all coming this year, or early next year.

Blobber - 6/14/2005 9:15:45 PM Savoy...man...what can I say? The past is gone...let it go. Jerry Garcia's dead, dude.
