Fireball Ministry Live at The

Fireball Ministry has been touted by its congregation as being “The First Church of Rock and Roll.”

The four-piece band played a very loud and salubrious set for a packed house--more appropriately--a packed Glasshouse, spreading the good news that rock and roll will never die. They were onstage this night opening for Lamb of God. This was an unlikely pairing, yet the contrast of the music and the crowd each band drew worked well. No stones were thrown. Those who wished to get stoned in communion did so. Amen? Amen.

It seemed fitting that the Saturday evening service began with a statement from The Reverend James A. Rota II – “We're Fireball Ministry and we're a Heavy Metal band.” Little was said by him after that. The message was in the music they played from the opening song, “King,” and all the way through. They have a basic approach to the way they play, yet their performance didn't lack the essentials, like power, rock and soul. With this being said, there were clean vocals sang and lots of guitar leads that were played.

I received a message from above that you must go see Fireball Ministry play live, anywhere. In the meantime, if you have been looking for love in all the wrong places, been trying to fill that empty chasm that emanates from a fractured soul, and you've seen the futility of worshiping false idols (listening to shitty music)--my flock, I leave you this suggestion: go buy, burn or steal Fireball Ministry: The Second Great Awakening.

Peace, gnarly.
