Saruman Shakes Earth in Bavari

Really old dude, and actor, Christopher Lee is reportedly performing at a heavy metal festival in Germany.

The 82-year-old, who plays "Dr. Wonka" in the movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and Saruman in the Lord of the Rings, among many other legendary roles (don't forget, Lee played Dracula in over a dozen movies), is taking part in the Earthshaker Festival in Geiselwind, Bavaria.

According to organizers, he will sing with two bands, Manowar and Rhapsody.

Lee will be accompanied by a live orchestra and a choir. Also performing on the bill: Grave Digger, Dragonlord and Forces of Evil.

dancy, that's funny, but lying about our metal heroes' ages to make yourself feel younger is a disservice from a saleability standpoint as you know. Hollyweird prefers to promote youth as you know.

Was DEEP PURPLE smoking that deep purple stuff to play with passion? Glen Tipton is a couple of months older than Ozzy and he still does OK. Dio is...ah just fuck it! Money talks and bullshit walks!

Though an 83 yo on stage is pretty cool, I'm not sure what the big deal is, Ozzy and keith Richards are each about 83 and they still play. I just saw Deep Purple play a few weeks back, they're all 83 and they smoked.

yes, i can confirm that barry clayton narrated count duckula. ha!

shapeshifter2k - 7/29/2005 4:46:09 PM
webmeister and dragon: I THINK the voice for the Number of the Beast intro was done by Barry Clayton. He narrated the 80's cartoon Count Duckula. Can anyone confirm this?

swrspector - 7/29/2005 7:50:47 AM
Count Dooku and Black Sabbath - Great idea! I wouldn't mind him teaming up with Iron Maiden and he would be interesting with Overkill too. Although I guess it's hard to speculate without hearing his voice but if it's anything like his natural baritone speaking voice it should be blazingly cool.

saw Charlie and the Chocolate factory and the Manowar guest is in it...he's Willy's father...I can't believe he's in his 80's and still has his brain functions intact but it's cool for him to not be so closed minded and wanting to have some fun...most older people would just turn their noses up at this kind of music and call it noise I just wish he'd guest with Ozzy on a couple of Sabbath songs

JOHHNYGEETAR: Didn't I make it clear earlier that I refuse to have sex with you in any way?

JOHHNYGEETAR - 7/28/2005 3:47:05 PM
YEAH, WHAT SPACE_FAG SAID!

Vincent Price rising from the grave to sing metal would be a fitting encore.

The_Space_Lord - 7/27/2005 5:52:34 PM
Legion666: Vincent Price has been dead for years. Live in the now.

common_sense - 7/27/2005 12:21:51 PM
legion666, did you even read the article or is the meth getting to you? either way, wise up, dipshit!

spacegirl67 - 7/27/2005 7:40:29 AM
This is going to be an awesome event. I really hope it's going to be filmed and recorded! Christopher Lee and Manowar.... I love the concept! METAL WARRIORS DOMINATE

Legion666 - 7/27/2005 1:53:59 AM
Vincent Price joining Metal bands on stage is great! I still remember him as Dracula when I was a little kid! The man is legendary, and even though the bands are not my favorites, Vincent Price is being a part of METAL!! Horns up!!!

webmeister - 7/26/2005 5:09:16 PM
Dragon, it wasn't Vincent Price who did the intro to # of the Beast. I forgot who it was, but it wasn't VP.
