correction... tate HAD a wide vocal range and wilton / degarmo were a great tandem guitar team... but they were not the "greatest" band to come out of that era... dude, they were an opening act for metallica's justice for all tour when they came out with mindcrime... that 1989... and their last good effort, in my opinion...

matrixx29 - 11/23/2005 5:58:48 AM
i'm glad there are people who don't like them! that just makes GREAT FREE advertisement for them so the people will go out and buy it just out of spite! Even if the album sucks (which it won't) Queensryche was one of the greatest bands that came out of that era!

hasta la vista, baby...

Leather_Lung - 11/22/2005 12:55:49 PM
LOL!!!

trevor12 - 11/22/2005 11:35:15 AM
That's some funny shit Leather Lung, Nicky escaping the looney bin and going after Dr. X, "commando style" with a bazooka and dry Austrian accented one liners as he takes down Dr. X's henchmen.

Leather_Lung - 11/22/2005 9:31:53 AM
Hey oldskool, I think I remember reading somewhere that geoff tate always wanted to be a meatloaf when he grew up, man... now all he needs to do is gain about 400 lbs.

Leather_Lung - 11/22/2005 9:28:21 AM
Errr, what else is left to write about, anyways??? Nicky killed the priest. It's up in the air as to whether or not he killed Mary. He's in some sort of hospital, I think an insane asylum... Unless Nicky escapes and goes after Doctor X, with some kick ass tunes, this release will be the final nail in QR's coffin...

Leather_Lung - 11/22/2005 8:44:54 AM
I totally agree with you, oldskool... QR was never really that great of a band; just as they started to pick up momentum, the genre died and they went on to record pieces of obscurity... they were a little too fucken "radio-friendly" for me, even when they had Degarmo in the band... I mean, it's not like I'd tell people to "turn that shit off" when I heard them on the radio or on a cd, it's just that I won't go out of my way to support the post-Mindcrime crap they've been releasing... I'll admit that I saw them with Priest and on the Mindcrime revisited tour, but that's because I did like Mindcrime and I wasn't going to miss the real Priest reunion, even though I saw the mini Priest reunion at Ozzfest '04... All I can say is we'll see, but I'm not holding my breath for anything earth-shattering...

cindyrox you are right on baby. HAVE SOME FUCKING RESPECT... don't like it don't buy it. If all these pansy ass wanna be rockers want to go talk shit, go suck off white Stripes, and leave the talent alone. Set the pipe down and listen... If you don't like proggressive, maybe QR is not your bag. Stick with the 3 chord stuff. Thank GOD bands like Queensryche stayed around and kept rock going for the last 20 plus years. Oh, and if this offends you, it probably applies to you.

i was never a fan of q.r.they have songs i like.i just think its REALLY FUCKING LAME to do follow up albums.meatloaf did it and flopped on that fucking huge gut of his.it looks like a last act of desperation to me.they know they had a hit with the first mindcrime so trying to bring it back seems like to me they are reaching for way back into the limelight.create a buzz...call it what you will.but i don`t think i`m alone on this one.something tells me its gonna backfire at them.

Leather_Lung - 11/21/2005 5:40:45 PM
er... am i the only fucken person that read the TATE interview (here on KNAC.com) where he said that Operation Mindcrime (possibly Empire) and all previous releases were nothing more than reflections of QR's influences and basically the sound of the times??? he flat out stated that all subsequent releases were "the real queensryche"... i posted a comment on that board saying something to the effect of "IF THE SHIT FROM THE LAST 10 YEARS WAS THE REAL QUEENSRYCHE, THEN GIMME THE FAKE QUEENSRYCHE BACK..." what the fucken fuck??? i hate to repeat myself, but i felt it necessary because unless this is some "back to roots" effort, i don't know... it might turn out to be... how u say... CRAP!!!

d_ellefson - 11/21/2005 2:24:07 PM
waiting on this release is almost like waiting on the "much anticipated" release of gnr's "chinese democracy"!!

SaintBastard01 - 11/21/2005 4:44:36 AM
QUEENSRYCHE IS GOD!!!!!!!!!

cblues71 - 11/21/2005 1:19:05 AM
Saw them live several months back. Folks, Tate hasn't lost a step. They were incredible. I don't expect this album to be Mindcrime. They can't make one as good. At least it will be good music. I'm tired of them putting off the release! ready to hear it.
