Producer Kevin Shirley Updates Progress on New Iron Maiden Album By Newsferatu, Writer Monday, March 6, 2006 @ 8:16 AM
"OK, OK! I don't know where the diary is - they said they would post it on the Maiden site, but anyhoo to keep you from insulting me further - my equipment rolled in Monday night, the Maiden truck rolled in Tuesday, and we set the studio up - it's a big job but by Tuesday night were almost ready to go. Wednesday, Nicko (McBrain - drums) and Steve (Harris - bass) came in about noon, the other lads (guitarist Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers) about three, Bruce (Dickinson - vocals) about 4. I fiddled with the sound, and it's really coming up really good. Everyone has come to a similar place about where we're going, and it's been hard work, and a lot of fun. There is a lot of laughing, and a little bit of frustration when things get difficult. We've cut three basic tracks, and got a fourth ready to go tomorrow. And now - check the IM site! + I've been having a blast doing English things - including Sunday roast lunch and beer at the pub, and then Dev and I walked around.
