I saw them open up for a stoner jam band called Mother Hips at some rave in the desert outside of Barstow back in 1992. I was high on pot, shrooms, acid, coke, and drunk...so I'm not sure if I was really there or if it was a composite image/repressed memory of other gigs.

I saw Morbid Angel open up for Motorhead and Black Sabbath back in 94 in Sunrise, Florida and they were awesome. I'm glad Dave came back, I've seen them a couple of times since and it just wasn't the same without him. I'll catch this tour for sure.

Sounds like Santa Ana is in for a kick ass show on April 5th.

I first saw Morbid Angel in 1991, and in spite of a shitty PA they played a great show...Since then I've seen MA four more times and they have always delivered. As simple as this: Pete Sandoval is the best drummer in heavy metal, period.

Sandavol kills on the skins.

Glad you liked it Leather! For you MORBID ANGEL Death/Black Metal fans in Southern California, I recommend you check out the following show on April, 5th 2006. It's going to be DEICIDE, VITAL REMAINS, SADISTIC INTENT & more! I especially recommend the legendary SADISTIC INTENT, if you enjoy Extreme Metal and never seen them, you've been missing out on a great band! Now is your chance to check them out April 5th at the Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana! I read an interview with Dave Lombardo of SLAYER which said he really enjoyed their live performance! Now that I think about it, the stage presence of SADISTIC INTENT kind of reminds me of SLAYER "Hell Awaits" era! Hell yeah, Metal to the extreme!!

Morbid Angel rules

Hey, Newsferatu, how about updating the pictures? Steve Tucker hasn't been in the band in a couple of years.

Leather_Lung - 3/7/2006 7:43:31 PM
Great interview... Thanks, man!
