Not a Sirius Love Fest

The following are some "highlights" from today's Howard Stern show on Sirius satellite featuring Ozzy and Sharon Osbounre:

Referring to Iron Maiden at Ozzfest last year, Ozzy said that he told Sharon, "Don't put them on the tour because they are fucking trouble."

In between verbal attacks on the band, Sharon revealed that Iron Maiden were paid $185,000 a night. It was also revealed that Black Sabbath are not performing at their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because, according to the Osbournes, guitarist Tony Iommi doesn't want to perform. Ozzy said that the reason he is going to the ceremony is because of the other members of the band, but that he still feels the same as he did in 1999 about the Hall. MEtallica will be inducting the band and covering two Black Sabbath songs.

I love Ozzy, his albums with Sabbath are legendary, and he had a few great solo albums early on too. However, I can't imagine anyone with any common sense thinking Ozzy contributes anything to the current metal or rock scene. He's sadly a nostalgia act only living off the past. He won't do a new Sabbath album, can't do a tour of any length, and has simply recycled much more old material than put out new stuff in the last 15 years. Yes it's sad, but it's reality. Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler have much more new music to offer, but it seems clear Ozzy does not.

And Iron Maiden is trouble why? Yeah, yeah you agreed to pay them 184 G's a night, but what is your point. Fuck off Ozzy.

I'm guessing that you, SaintBastard01, are a bit young...To say that Sabbath is RJD is absolutely one of the stupidist things I have read in a long time. Thanks for the laugh. Speaking of laughs...The R&R Hall of Fame is a joke. Who cares???

SaintBastard01 - 3/20/2006 5:16:55 AM
