Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy has posted the following comments in the Forum section of his website in response to a suggestion from a fan that Queensryche frontman Geoff Tate would have maybe joined the band on stage at their April 1st date in New York City:
"I'm tired of being politically correct...
For the record, Geoff Tate is a 2-faced douchebag. Since he has begun doing O:M2 press, he has been consistantly bashing DT and even me personally in the press... (why, I have no idea?) But I'm tired of biting my tongue, when he obviously can't.
When he was on Eddie Trunk's show Friday night, he was incredibly rude and insultful when talking about me off the air to Eddie and Chris Jericho (he having no idea they're my bros)... Eddie and Chris were FUMING at him and Chris immediately texted me from the studio saying he was ready to body slam him on the spot.
His new name on this board should be Geoff Taint... Screw him...he's now on my shitlist..."
A follow-up message from Portnoy reads:
"Also... for the record before this blows up any further... I have absolutely no issues with the other guys who were always straight-up and cool all throughout the tour and ever since... Scott and Eddie in particular are two guys who I really like and am proud to call 'friends'... Geoff was, and is, the two-faced BS artist to everybody he comes in contact with... either professionally (or 'un' for that matter) as well as to his poor fans that still believe his bullshit after all these years.
I'm sorry that such good guys as Scott, Eddie and Michael are being 'led' by this babbling idiot...
Like I said... I was willing to bite my lip, be professional and politically correct and continue to not EVER say anything bad about him in the press..but Taint-boy had to open his big ass mouth to two of my best bros (Eddie Trunk and Chris Jericho) which was a big mistake and the final straw...
That's all from me... I'm gonna take a well-earned vacation..."

Is this really necessary, and do you people really think posting things like this makes Queensryche look good, or that these fans are a good representation of the band ? You should take a step back and look at what you write, it really doesn't.
Why does it bother you people when Dream Theater cover another band's music so much ? LOL at you !! Why spend so much time acting like 5th graders with the name calling and insults when all of this is really between Geoff Tate and Mike Portnoy ? Let THEM hash it out, they're both big boys, and are responsible for their own actions and reactions. Perhaps, JUST PERHAPS BOTH of them should have acted more professionally ?
For someone who supposedly hates another band so much, you all seem to know so much about what Dream Theater are doing, and you sure seem to spend a lot of time thinking and talking about them. I think that's pretty ridiculous. The bottom line is, life is too short. Quit wasting your time on hate. Geeeze, it's way past time to grow up.
For the record, I still like BOTH bands, and nobody is going to tell me who to listen to, who my loyalty should lie with.

I come up with all sorts of cleaver ways to make fun of them, like I mess up their names. I called their drummer Porknoy the other day! That was so funny. I hate Dream Theatre. I love Geoff Tate.
