Superstar Musicians From Journ
Sammy Hagar has confirmed via his official website www.redrocker.com that he has formed a supergroup with Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, Journey guitarist Neal Schon, Journey drummer Deen Castronovo and former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash. The band recently entered a recording studio and cut two songs, “Vertigo” and “Peeping Through A Hole.” The band are hoping to have them in a movie soundtrack. According to the posting, the music sounds like “Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, and Tool.”
According to www.melodicrock.com , Journey’s manager, Irving Azoff (who also manages The Eagles and ran Giant Records), will be involved with the band and there are plans for a full album in late-2002/early-2003 with a tour to follow. This is a side-project for all involved, with Sammy also planning a Summer 2002 tour with the Waboritas!!
Hagar played with Michael Anthony in Van Halen and Neal Schon in HSAS. Eddie Van Halen reportedly gave Michael Anthony his blessing to join the group.

Ducati_John - 3/4/2002 10:54:59 AM boy, i sure feel sorry for my old buddy slash. i met slash a couple of years ago and we keep in touch. " supergroup ." are you kidding me? anything with sammy hagar is garbage. the guy sounds like he's reading a hallmark card with those great lyrics.
scodo - 3/1/2002 10:36:12 AM hell give it a change! what else does rock got to look forward to?
realitychecktv - 2/28/2002 1:45:21 PM Hey sickmanofeurope, I gave you a compliment. Relax. Same goes for jonnyatozz. It seems that you're pissed off, not me. In any event, it seems that there's quite a few narrow-minded dweebs out there. It's easy to tell, because the same names keep popping up on all the reader rants, and are usually trashing something. Any of you negative nincompoops out there have anything positive to say? Not to mention you hide behind your login names, because you're too afraid to talk shit in the open. I always post my name & email so if anyone wants to take issue with what I say, then one is free to do so.
So--like I said before, why not give this project a chance. Then if it sounds crappy when it comes out, we'll all know for sure. But then again, some dorks can't be pleased no matter what--since their pitiful little lives revolve around trashing everyone else to make themselves feel better...

tzw - 2/28/2002 1:35:59 PM The project that Sammy Hagar and Neil Schon did in the '80s (around 1984, I think) was pretty good. Actually, it's better that Neil is playing with Hagar rather than Steve Perry. At least there will be no schmaltzy ballads.
johnnyatozz - 2/28/2002 9:32:43 AM Hey realitychecktv maybe you shouldn't take yourself or your opinion so seriously. That way you wouldn't get pissed off all the time.
johnnyatozz - 2/28/2002 9:31:01 AM Well looks like Journey and Hagar are going to ruin Slash's credibility too!
Alcoandy - 2/28/2002 6:05:33 AM nj23nut you are the epitame of a shit head, Slash aint no drugged up loser u twat
sickmanofeurope - 2/27/2002 5:54:20 PM If I posted it a couple of more times it would be even more repetitive.......You "constructive criticism fuck"
realitychecktv - 2/27/2002 11:25:46 AM Goddamn, what a bunch of cynical fucks that post messages here! some of you need to get over yourselves and get a life!!! Maybe it might be a good idea to hear what it sounds like before trashing it? It may actually be GOOD. Besides, I think M.A. needs to get out of the shadow of EVH. Give the project a chance, and wait 'til the tunes are out there. Then if they suck, we'll all know for sure. Chances are it will probably be pretty cool, though.
I do like the suggestions of sickmanofeurope, although the names are kinda repetitive. But having those weird combos would actually be fun!

nj23nut - 2/26/2002 7:01:57 PM Neal Schon is a MUCH MUCH superior guitarist than Slash..what they need that drugged up loser for is beyond me.
apeman666 - 2/26/2002 1:38:13 PM This band will kick ass as long the nursing homes stay open.
rompstomper - 2/26/2002 8:27:52 AM This actually sounds like a really cool group. I would actually like to see Mike Tell Eddie To GET F**KEd and stay with Hagar. Might Do Mr. Guitar some good to taste is own medicine!
