The gossip boards at Metal Sludge are on fire after last night's Poison concert in Atlanta.
Here's are some samples:
"Don't know what started it, but right before the encore Bret (Michaels, vocalist) and Bobby (Dall, bassist) appeared to be in a heated discussion and next thing ya know, Bobby slings his bass at Bret. Rikki (Rockett, drummer) and the roadies had to come in and separate them. Bret then went on to apologize and say how we may have just witnessed the last Poison concert ever. Bobby later came out and finished the song... guess to give the fans what they paid for."
Another fan in attendance issued this commentary:
"Here is the way I saw it from 5th row center seats. The next to last song has always been "Nothing But A Good Time', at least for the last six years. Then they seem to always close with 'Talk Dirty To Me'. Well, 'NBAGT' was played, the confetti dropped as it has every year, the band comes out and waves and it goes dark.
A couple of minutes pass by and Bobby Dall (the bassist) comes running on stage, picks up the mic and starts screaming. 'Do you want some more? I can't hear you!' I mean screaming the shit. It was weird and unusual... just the whole atmosphere of it seemed strange, the way he was acting. Then the rest of the band comes walking out looking puzzled and Bret Michaels tried to get the microphone from Bobby. He shoved Bret and looked seriously pissed off, I mean he looked like he was ready to throw down. Bret took the boxer's stance (you know dukes up and bouncing) and I was just kinda trying to play it off with a smile but Bobby wasn't smiling at all. Then four or five roadies come on stage and pulled them off the stage.
A couple of minutes later, Bret comes out and apologizes to the fans. He said, 'that shit has been building up for 20 years.' He then explained, 'We are like brothers, and sometimes brothers want to knock the fuck out of each other.' He apologized for not finishing the show with 'Talk Dirty To Me' and then said, 'Atlanta, you may very well have seen the last concert by Poison in its current formation.'
Rikki Rockett and C.C. DeVille had 'WTF looks' on their faces. Then Bobby comes out and says, 'fuck it, let's play one more.' Rikki walked to his drum kit, C.C. got handed his guitar and they played 'Talk Dirty'. During the song, Bobby was running around all over the stage, a lot more than is normal for him. C.C. and Rikki kept exchanging looks with each other like they were disgusted. Bret just sang his ass off and didn't pay attention to Bobby. At the end of the show, Bobby took his bass off, handed it to the roadie and walked off the other side of the stage while Bret, Rikki, and C.C. all said goodnight to the fans and thanked them for coming out. It was awkward, and not staged at all in my opinion.
After the houselights were on, Bret apologized to some of the fans in the front row... without a mic, he just said, 'guys, I'm sorry that happened here.' Seemed very genuine to me. As we were leaving, we had to pass by the area where the people line up for meet and greet passes... given out by radio stations and fan clubs. Well, one of the guards walked up and told them there would be no meet and greet tonight."
There has been no official word from Poison about this incident. There are three dates remaining on their 20 Years Of Rock tour, they are:
SpeedKillz - 9/5/2006 12:00:18 PM Oh shit! I saw the headline to this story and thought "How fucking cool is this?! The end of Poison!" CC Deville is the worst guitar player ever born.. Apparently these cocksuckers never auditioned anyone when corporate built this band of fags.
leftear - 9/5/2006 9:02:45 AM nothing but a good time
linkinkornbizkt - 9/5/2006 6:48:11 AM vick_troy....where did i mention wiggers?another moron has swallowed the username bait, ill bet he shits that lure before any attempt to retrieve it is made.thank-you dumb fuck, you are the perfect evidence in my case against you and yours, the poison fan.how was the fair?did you hear about the sale at wal-mart?you wanna sell those trailer axles?dont look like you is goin anywhere soon.
alana - 9/4/2006 2:14:47 AM a hole in a frayed knot
Mummyman - 9/3/2006 9:24:08 PM Fraid not assclone.
rnark73n - 9/2/2006 9:29:57 PM POISON RULES.THERE'S NOT MUCH SCOPE FOR DISCUSSION ON THIS MATTER,MUMMY'S MAN
Mummyman - 9/2/2006 5:04:03 PM Hey Vick...Have you ever looked at the header on this page? it's called "reader's rants" what that means is you can post whatever comment you'd like, pro or con. The whole idea is to promote discussion not to suck off every band posted on the site
vick_troy - 9/2/2006 1:27:34 PM Oh and by the way, "linkinkornbizkt", you're talking about wiggers? Who do you think are the fans of the 3 bands you use to make your name? That's right wiggers. They can't be accepted in the hip hop community and they suck as rockers so they created rap rock or as its also called, crap. By the way, where are they now? Are they still around? I haven't heard them on any radio stations lately. In 20 years they will have long been gone like a fart in the wind and bands like Poison will probably still be around torturing you as your own children blare it from their radio. The music speaks for itself and stands the test of time because it is fun and has a great sound. That's what music is about, not playing loud, distorted, or faster than the next guy. It has to touch people or move them not depress the hell out of them. After reading some of you losers' posts its clear that most of you are high school dropouts with not much going for you in life. Which explains why you have so much free time to go from message board to message board posting immature banter. I mean, you have been having a 3 day conversation and posting every 10 minutes.
I have to go now because unlike most of you I have a real wife and kids and a real life and don't still live with my parents.
vick_troy - 9/2/2006 1:05:33 PM For a band that is finished and never been good, Poison sure creates a whole lot of excitement. I mean there are about 10 or more pages and counting so far on this topic. If all of you "haters" don't like them or give a shit then why do you seek out all topics and anything to do with them and keep posting. Go to your favorite bands sites and post how great they are. That's right, you can't because their sites are empty and you are the only one there posting. Get lifes and quit trashing bands that are still filling stadiums full of loyal fans just because your favorites are playing at local bars to a couple hundred. Player haters.
Mummyman - 9/1/2006 11:06:15 PM Alert the media....Poison may be done....uh ..other than a greatest hits package have they released a record lately. I'd say they've been done for quite some time, unfortunately all the funnel cake eating chicks on the country fair circuit have kept them around 20 years too long
linkinkornbizkt - 9/1/2006 9:29:33 AM why dont you try insulting the truthful part of my posts.otherwise your endless blabbering is useless.try reading exactly what i post.wait for a moment, giving yourself a chance to form a thought away from the emotion that ive inspired in you, after all ,im your god now.you wouldnt want me to push your buttons some more, sleep depravation will consume you shortly, followed by distancing of yourself from those that cant stand the sound of you any longer.you used to be tolerable when your conversations remained superficial, now that youre speaking from the part of you that ive created and exposed, youll certainly become alienated.
NYC_Harley - 9/1/2006 7:47:51 AM Holy f%&king sh1t! Limp bizkt made a salient point! Goddamn! Your right you cornholing asslinking shitwad, Maiden & Priest (and Sabbath, Zepplin & AC/DC) were around waaaaay before Metallica. But you can't deny that those bands belonged to an entirely different place and time, in short a different scene. Metallica were basically the first american metal band to achieve widespread commercial success. Don't tell me that Quiet Riot had a greater influence on the metal scene than Metallica - Quiet Riot sucks more sphincter than even you, and that's a whole fucking lot of asshole.
rnark73n - 9/1/2006 2:44:31 AM HOPE SOMEONE HELPS THESE GUYS SLIT EACH OTHERS THROATS
GeneralRoachkof - 8/31/2006 7:41:53 PM civilpsycho you chump stain, who cares who wrote the songs. Who do you listen to you fuck stain? SOD. I'm sure you do you ball licking tranny of a stump. Go fist your prolapsed asshole some more you Milli VAnilli fucken wigger.
linkinkornbizkt - 8/31/2006 5:23:09 PM while we are on the subject of metal bands ,that found commercial sucksess, paving the way,for todays radio piss.dont forget quiet riot was the first"metal band"to achieve that illustrious #1 spot.
