"(Wolfgang) is kicking my ass!

Eddie Van Halen recently spoke to Guitar World Magazine. This quote is an excerpt from the interview featured in the new issue, and posted on a David Lee Roth fan site:
"I'm telling Dave. 'Dude get your ass up here and sing, witch! Come On!'" says Van Halen. "As it stands right now, the ball is in Dave's court. Whether he wants to rise to the occasion is entirely up to him, but we're ready to go."
"Wolfgang breathes life into what we're doing," says Ed. "He brings youthfullness to something that's inherently youthful. He's only been playing bass for 3 months, but it's spooky. He's locked tight and puts an incredible spin on our dookie. The kid is kicking my ass! He's spanking me now, even though I never spanked him. To have my son follow in my footsteps on his own, without me pushing him into it, is the greatest feeling in the world."
iamscharles - 8/9/2007 7:59:03 PM I wonder if Wolfgang VH can fill Michael Anthony's shoes. I'm skeptical that a kid can be that solid. Michael Anthony is a seasoned, legendary bassist--Vs a kid playing for how long? I hope I'm wrong and this kid turns out to be a prodigy like Mozart or Beethoven Jr. (or duh..Eddie Jr.) and can add something more than Michael Anthony could ever contribute. I just can't help but feel that Eddie is just a proud dad and Wolfie is biting off more than he can chew.
magor - 12/24/2006 9:24:38 PM meant: "Being blond is not what makes you whiter...", since Norris is half White he is white, but he's also
half Native American making him Oriental as well
(Indians migrated here from the Old World too just a longer time ago that's all, and if it proves out that they were Atlanteans not Asians, Norris is still half Indian, just not Oriental, that's all.
magor - 12/24/2006 12:04:12 AM oh, white rider, Ed is actually not even a first generation American, but a transplant, whereas I was born here, or does that make me second generation and Ed first, no matter, I'm no less white than he because my parents immigrated and I know my parents, but you don't know if you aren't part cherokee or Ghanan do you? Being blond is not what makes you white, look at Chuck Norris who's half cherokee in fact. And if you've ever been to Europe you'd know most Europeans are brunettes anyway, only the Frisian tribe of Germans was described as totally blond even in the Romans days by historians who visited Germany (Allemagne) part of which belonged to the Romans just like Britain, (Brittania), Hungary (Pannonia), Romania (Dacia), and others. Spain and Greece were entirely part of the Roman Empire. Of course because of this colonization we've all got Italian in us, and though some Italians mostly in Northern Italy around Milan have blond hair due to mixing with the Longobards most are brunettes. In fact, as nations in Europe go only Sweden, Denmark and Iceland are generally blond, even the other three former Viking countries, Norway, Finland, and Russia are either mostly brunette or auburn. So where does this leave you? I doubt if you could suddenly produce an ancestral file with all their nationalities identified if you've been here since 1776 or so as your handle implies, since most Americans have unfortunatley
long lost knowledge of most (even recent) if not all their ancestors.
magor - 12/23/2006 11:40:11 PM damn you're good at spinning, hey everyone, let phry tryout for that ballet troupe he wants to join so badly. Go back to Gnarly's interview with Gillan and reread how Purp's music was blasting out of every dormroom...I don't know where Charlie got this info from unless he was there as well, or unless he has a friend or more who were there, since not many books go into such details, but at least he put it on the record here. I don't know him, so he didn't get it from me, unless he read where I told you I went to a boarding school in Europe, we were among those blasting the hard rock/metal through our windows at the local villagers, and we were among those bringing it stateside, along with GI-s and some college foreign exchange students, many of whom were hippies or became such while there. (but even if he did read it from me I'm sure he verified it before writing about it for the record if journalism is his career) I still remember the Bones, a famous German motorcycle gang, major competitiors of the German Hells Angels chapter (yes the Angels exist and prosper all over Europe...the Afghan and Turk poppy to heroin trade, hash trade, hookers, pornos, gambling, racketeering, protection, often working for the Mafia you name it, etc.) kind of like the Pagans here, coming to our school to ride off into the sunset as it were with several of the older girls who attended this school. Hell the older boys, from third floor, the 17 through 19 yr. olds got into a rumble (over the girls) with these chopper riders, so the riders quickly nabbed a few and rode out. It was like a scene from the Billy Jack movie Born Losers, if you remember that one. BTW this Bones gang was talked about in one of the major papers (don't remember which)here a few months ago, because one of the former German female neo-nazi leaders "defected" to the U.S. and spilled the beans on her life as a street tough over there, associating with the various working class gangs in existence there, among them the Bones. She even mentions in the interview here, what I clearly remember them doing when they came to our school: when they approach on their cycles they announce their arrival by throwing a human bone, either a skull or a femur generally (or sometimes both)in such a way as to roll it towards you on the floor basically telling you to get out of their way or fight trying to. Just recited this little piece of history to you to show you there are many things in the Old World Hollyweird never covers , but would probably make great stories even for movies. Ah, but the ethnocentricism or maybe it's fear of competition under true free trade...
phry - 12/23/2006 3:38:18 PM Magor: 'I already told you there were bands in Europe then, but you don't want to believe me and I suspect you weren't there, do you know?'.....You put your foot in your mouth this time Magor, as you admited on the Paul Stanley site, that you based you theory on the explanation of metal on the heresay to a couple 'Nigerians' you worked with. LMAO C'mon, like you were there. And even if you were, these bands were non-starters, to classify them with the Gods of British metal is ignorant, even for you......(a couple Nigerians lol told me so LMAO)
magor - 12/23/2006 2:51:35 AM whiterider, I'm first generation American like Ed, I think we're both whiter than you, but I'll borrow one (sort of) from you, you heinz57, "You can dish it, but can you take it?"
magor - 12/23/2006 2:47:06 AM phry, spinning again isi not going to change anything. You are one little tenacious devil though aren't you?
Just because I drop spmething to come back to it later at times doesn't mean I'm not using logic, everyone does this throughout there lives. We're all time constrained unfortunately, and I've already told you there were bands in Europe then, but you don't want to believe me and I suspect you weren't there, so how would you know? You could ask some GI-s who were there at the time. They could probably tell you. Along with us boarding school kids, they also brought the metal craze in Europe back to the U.S. Just another tidbit
I didn't even mention earlier, but which I don't think you're aware of, or then again maybe you've been playing devil's advocate all this time to keep the discussion going. Who's paying you? KNAC? Just kidding.
Sort of.
whiterider1776 - 12/22/2006 2:43:43 PM YOU TOO MAGOR....NIGGER THROUGH AND THROUGH
whiterider1776 - 12/22/2006 2:43:00 PM EVH's A NIGGER CRACK HEAD!
nwo123 - 12/22/2006 5:25:41 AM i'm gonna go put a new spin on my dookie in my bathroom, time to fire off some knuckle children!!!!
nwo123 - 12/22/2006 5:23:58 AM mojo???? what is he austin fucking powers???? who uses that word in a sentence and does'nt mean it in a sarcastic way??
phry - 12/22/2006 1:57:45 AM And don't say you are from the US, we know you are either European; or, a minority with a lame cause.
phry - 12/22/2006 1:53:10 AM Magor: Once again, Magor, you show no logic, dummy. If these kids had such great music training/classes, and 'could hear the quality musicianship in much of metal before it registered with the kids here', then why was it the United States formed the second generation of musicians and bands in that genre of music?
phry - 12/22/2006 1:37:04 AM Magor: Logic? You say one thing on one page; something else on another, when you think the coast is clear. Or, you'll drop the argument, only to take it up again later, surly even a delusional head case, such as your self, can see the logic in my words? I apologise for hurting your sentiments with the truth so much that you had to resort to such inane babblings that proved it to the audience that you're insane beyond help.
magor - 12/22/2006 12:11:58 AM phry, boy did you put your foot in your mouth with this one. First you say that I'm still stating what I stated elsewhere before, then you claim I change the subject when I'm under pressure. Which is it? Logic? Seems there is none is there? But then you've already proven your inability in this area. No argument there. Oh, oldskool, I forgot to add in my previous post to you here, that the part you wrote about metal being a "retarded" stepchild of rock was true in the sense that the rock establishment in media looked at metal musicians that way, not in the sense that metal musicians were actually in reality any less educated than their mainstream rock counterparts. This was only an image the media promoted with the whole drug culture thing. In fact I would argue that one of the main reasons heav rock/metal took off in Europe immediately upon its birth whereas here it took a few years for it to get popular was that the kids in Europe have music classes through high school whereas here as you know it's an elective and most kids here, according to federal national stats, don't take it past fourth grade. In other words the kids there could hear the quality musicianship in much of metal before it registered with the kids here. I was one of those kids coming back from boarding school there for my intermittent vacations spreading the music here, cousin to cousin, friend to friend. Not bragging about this, many other kids from that school did the same thing
(there was a whole American contingent of kids there...
the dollar stretched farther in our parents days, it was worth 4 Marks and change when I was there in the early 70's), just stating once again that I was there,
so I know what happened, neither phry nor kreatorics or any other ethnocentric anglophile here can convince me to believe something they've bought into, spoonfed them by Hollyweird.
