Upon their return from Japan, Aerosmith headed over to Hawaii for three weeks to begin working on their follow up to Just Push Play.
Perry told the Aerosmith fan club Aero Force One, "We're not really sure what form it's going to take, but we'd like to put some new music out by this spring. So we felt we would take the momentum of playing, of just capturing that feeling at the end of a tour...I know personally my playing is better just from playing live and hearing how the fans reacted to the songs off the record, so we kind of wanted to take some of that energy and sit down and see what we got."
Perry adds, "We're thinking maybe a greatest-hits record of some kind or another, because there hasn't been a greatest-hits record that's had the best of both eras--you know, the stuff from the '70s, '80s, and the '90s--so we are kind of looking at doing the best of the best and then put a couple of new songs on there as well."
