VAN HALEN Not To Blame For Soundwave Revolution Cancellation By Tokemaster General, Contributor Wednesday, August 10, 2011 @ 1:49 PM
Tour news rocked the world this week as organizers confirmed that Australia's famous Soundwave Revolution touring festival had been cancelled. The jaunt - set to run in late September - was to feature the VAN HALEN reunion tour with David Lee Roth and ALICE COOPER as headliners.
Some people were quick to point fingers at Van Halen, assuming that they must have pulled out of the festival.
According to the VAN HALEN News Desk, Van Halen DID NOT pull out of Soundwave Revolution, and had nothing to do with the festival being cancelled. The promoter had been planning on securing one or two additional headliners, which they were unable to do. Triple M in Australia revealed today that AEROSMITH was the unannounced second headliner that pulled out of the festival. Between Aerosmith backing out, and lagging ticket sales, the promoter decided to cancel the festival.
![]() Van Halen have been in the studio with Grammy Award winning producer John Shanks (BON JOVI, FLEETWOOD MAC, STEVIE NICKS) and producer/engineer Ross Hogarth (DIO, MÖTLEY CRÜE, RATT), recording their first album with David Lee Roth in more than 25 years, and their first new music as a band in seven years. The revered hard rockers are rounded off by brothers Eddie and Alex Van Halen and Eddie's son Wolfgang. Expect the album to be released later this year.
