At least three generations of fans filLed the Greek Theater for a rock and roll show that will long be remembered. While there are a multitudinous amount of bands who cover the mighty Led Zeppelin, Jason Bonham and his Led Zeppelin Experience do it right, coloring the songs in their own style and flair. Jason Bonham, son of the late drum legend John Bonham, would no doubt tell you he could never fill his dad's shoes, but let's just call it divine entitlement that no other is more deserving to inherit Bonzo's throne. Jason is a celebrated rock drummer in his own right, and for close to three decades has done impressive works, not to mention having recently been an actual member of Led Zeppelin, that is, if you count reunions.

So, in the tradition of his father, and with the help of his JBLZE mates, a blistering two-hour set of classic Led Zeppelin songs was played for the California crowd. The appreciation for the classics, the camaraderie, and the overall energy exchange was palpable, accentuated by multimedia/overhead imagery of Pops Bonzo flying over Jason's head. Multimedia heightened the sounds, so the crowd got to see Jason and John (from Zeppelin footage when he was twenty-two years young. Jason, who humbly spoke frequently between songs joked that he finally got to play drums with his dad, even though it's odd that the young Bonham, who at 45, is now older than his father. You figure it out.

After intermission, an old, grainy Bonham home movie rolled. And there was a young--no older than six--Jason playing behind his dad's Ludwig kit to Dr. John's "Right Place Wrong Time." Stellar.

So many big, big moments during the show. Zoe Bonham, Jason's sister got up to play harmonica for "When the Levee Breaks." "Kashmir" followed and a collective jaw-drop followed. JBLZE closed the show with "Whole Lotta Love," which an emotional Jason dedicated to his wife.

It was an all-inclusive show. We were all one Led-filled family that night. Call it Love at The Greek--2011.
