By Rob Jones, Founder

Crosby Loses His Battle

Former Ratt Guitarist Robbin Crosby lost his battle today with HIV. A longtime member of Ratt, Crosby was a big part of penning some of Ratt's most familiar songs.

Robin will be missed.

Our condolences go out to his friends and family.

i know this is old news but robin's talent will be missed thru-out the industry.back in the day i was a guitar tech and there was a lot of over indulging in every thing from booze to sex and you had to use your brain, and i don't mean the one behind buttonend cage. robin made his choices and had lived with the results, hopefuly others can learn by this loss.for ever live on robin & may your surviors & fans rest in peace. p.s. who knows maybe ironmaidensucks has small penis envey along with the ever illusive no guitar talent blues.

Isnt it amazing that we even exist. The whole idea of existence is one of the things most of us have never have focus of ever. I was raised in the 70's and 80's and wasted most of it trying to be cool. Now I want to be a friend and helper to others and I hope ya'll feel the same. What happen to Robin shows us how success and fame does not always bring joy. Lets try to remember his light and hope in Jesus that Robin made the right choices. May God Bless us all. Pray for the people suffering all over the world.

I loved Ratt, and lots of the bands of the LA street scene in the early 80's. Sunset Blvd. was the mecca and I myself was out there promoting my own band and partying. I had never met Robbin but considered anyone in Ratt at the time an almost godlike figure. Robbin was a great player as we all know, but you have to remember that he had his demons. He didnt catch AIDS from unprotected sex. Robbin was a hardcore junkie. Its hard to break a herion addiction - which is the most addicting drug on the planet. And for Robbin, his time was up - he shared one too many times, and juiced one too many. Thats all there really is to it, and this junkie disease that leads to another disease is what will eventually happen to someone in the envitable end. I'm sure in the end he was very sorry for letting alot of people down - especially himself, but it was too late. Robbin had a great short life, pretty much did what he wanted for most of it, and who knows - maybe hes getting in the last laugh.

I was fortunate enough to be a neighbor and close friend of Robbin's in the Hollywood Hills in the 90's. He truly had a loving and soft heart. He was one of the kindest, gentlest people I have ever known. I am amazed that people who have never even met the man can have anything negative to say about him. Get a life! I would not wish his last years on anyone. He, especially was too good a man to go out the way he did. Rest in peace my dear friend!

I'm more of an old punk boy than a metal fan. Still, I'm bummed to hear about the death of Robin Crosby. A lot of my friends in high school liked metal, including local boys Ratt. Any time an artist passed before his time, it's sad because of all that could have been. My condolences to all the metal boys and girls out there, because you lost one of your own. I may not be a big metal fan, but whether you like one form of music or another, thank god for diversity. Rock n roll is a beautiful thing, whether it's punk, metal, or whatever. A world without music would suck. RIP Robin, and to all you people out there saying foolish things about AIDS, or whatever. Grow up, man. Your karma will go with you to the next world. I just hope you're ready when the time comes.

This message is for ironmaidensucks-it's pretty obvious that you are a nu-metal no talent drip....I pitty people like yourself, to show no emotion and take pride in your garbage, you won't last long in this world, and if you hate iron maiden, it's probably because you know about 3 chords and love to keep talent down so that the no talent assholes could continue on,,,,,,well, keep this in mind......the era of guitar heroes is coming back and trust me I have my sources at all those shithole television spots like mtv. now go fuck your mother (which you probably do) and save your venom for yourself.....robin we will miss you forever.....and we will always remember those good'ol crazy 80's, that was an era to be remembered. Love you man.

Jesus, Is this what happens when I go away for a few months on a sabbatical? I knew of Robbin's death, and I felt very sad for him. I am so shocked and disgusted beyond belief that some assholes who shouldn't be posting on this board could say terrible things about Robbin. He did not deserve to suffer and die of AIDS- I have seen it kill people, and it's awful. He was talented, and helped to put RATT on the Heavy Metal map in the '80's. RATT Was one of the bands that I had fond memories listening to in High School, etc. I saw RATT a couple of times back when I was in high school, and I had a great time rocking out. I finally got to meet Robbin back in the Fall of 1995 at a Dokken show(another one of my all-time fave raves) in San Diego. He looked a tad under the weather, but I never thought it could be HIV/Pancreatic disease, etc. He was totally nice, I am so glad I had the chance to meet him. God gave him a takent, and for those of us who truly appreciated it, let us give thanks and horns up to Robbin for sharing it with us. Robbin, thank you for some great memories and great music. You will never be forgotten. Rest in peace and God bless...
