Jager Music Tour Features Saliva, Systematic By Sefany Jones, Contributing Editor Thursday, January 23, 2003 @ 11:43 AM
SALIVA AND (hed) PLANET EARTH TO HEADLINE (New Rochelle, NY) - After the success of last year's groundbreaking, earthshaking tour, the Jägermeister Music Tour is back! Produced and promoted by Clear Channel Entertainment and set to take off on March 6th in Philadelphia, the tour features some of the heaviest acts in the business: Saliva, (hed) Planet Earth, Breaking Benjamin, Systematic, and Stereomud. Memphis' Saliva is storming the charts with the follow-up to their platinum debut, Every Six Seconds. The new album from Island Records is called Back Into Your System, and it places the band among rock's elite. The single, "Always," is currently ranked #2 by Billboard, and the highly acclaimed album has got, according to Billboard "plenty of badass hooks, invigorating melodies, thought-provoking lyrics, and smatterings of rap." During the tour, (hed) Planet Earth will celebrate the release of their third album, Blackout, due out March 18th on Jive Records. The album's title track is the first single, which will be released to Rock and Alternative radio February 3rd. Early adds nationwide are already being reported. The Vem & Tony (Cam'ron, Apex Theory)-directed video will invade TV airwaves the same day. The Southern California band has toured with such acts as P.O.D., Metallica, Slayer, Linkin Park, and Slipknot. According to Rolling Stone, (hed) Planet Earth "… are the rare rap-metal act willing to admit that good times actually exist." With influences like Tool, Nirvana, and Korn, Pennsylvania's Breaking Benjamin has got plenty of metallic crunch as well as melodic ingenuity. Their Hollywood Records debut, Saturate, entered Billboard's HeatSeeker's chart at #2. The disc and its gritty, soulful lead single, "Polyamorous," which is currently in heavy rotation on MTV2, is garnering heavy radio airplay as the band continues to rip up stages across the country with their live show. Systematic balances a mainstream sensibility with a hard driving edge, and couples their signature sound with lyrical depth that stretches beyond the boundaries of stigmatized generic metal. With a commanding live show, Systematic nabbed the opening slot on all of 2001's hottest tours (Staind, Godsmack, Ozzfest, Disturbed). Pleasure To Burn, the follow-up to the band's 2001 debut, Somewhere In Between, is scheduled for release April 15th. Stereomud, the preeminent nü metal mavens, join the tour with a new album under their belts: Every Given Moment. Released by Columbia Records, Every Given Moment has got the group's hardest hitting and most sophisticated music to date. A welcome addition to the roster, the band, which splits time between Atlanta and New York City, has been known to get audiences thrashing like mad and head-banging like lunatics during live performances. Last year's Jägermeister Music Tour, which featured Drowning Pool, Ill Niño, and Coal Chamber, was one of the breakout tours of all time. Jägermeister provided a festival feel at a bargain price and promises to do more of the same this time around. "We were thrilled with last year's tour, and evidently, the fans were, too," says Lee Einsidler, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "This year, we're ready to crank it up to a higher level." With tickets priced at about $20, ticket holders can expect plenty of bang for their buck including great Jägermeister raffle prizes and giveaways like the all-new 2003 Jägermeister Compilation CDs with live and unreleased tracks from Slayer, (hed) Planet Earth, Drowning Pool, Down, Otep, Systematic, Breaking Benjamin, and others as well as plenty of Jägermeister shirts, hats, and more. Other prizes and giveaways from sponsors include customized Jägermeister guitars from Schecter Guitars, customized Jägermeister amplifiers from Peavey Electronics, and plenty of cool threads from No Fear.* Each performance will feature a local opening act sponsored by the Jägermeister Band Program, the highly-touted program designed to seek out and promote up-and-coming talent. Fans will also be treated to world premiere freestyle motocross footage from members of Metal Mulisha. And of course, the world-famous Jägerettes will be on hand along with the Jägermeister Buses, making sure everyone is having as much fun as humanly possible. The Jägermeister Music Tour will be advertised in print and on radio, and an additional Tour with a different lineup is slated for the fall. For more information, check out www.jagermusic.com.
