Straight outta Raleigh, NC, Leadfoot is a whiskey drinkin’, bar-bustin’ southern hard rock band that features two former members of Corrosion of Conformity, singer Karl Agell and bassist Phil Swisher. This outfit sounds little like COC (well, maybe a bit like they do now but not when these guys were in the band!), trading in thrash metal for Montrose-meets-Skynyrd-style boogie.

Fans of Raging Slab, the Supersuckers and Nashville Pussy will get exactly where these boys are coming from on tunes like “Champion of Living,” “Saturday Knight” and “Got a Lot To Learn.” They cover Sweet on “Someone Else Will” (good choice) and elbow ya in the funny bone with “Chicks Love Metal,” proving that even the hardest drinkin’ brutes got a soft spot for the ladies… who love headbangin’.

Agell sings his ass off and guitarists Scott Little and John Dzubak play like they’re sitting in the Allman Brothers while flying on an 8-ball of biker crank. More Rose Tattoo than AC/DC, these guys play the blues as filtered through two decades of touring in metal-punk bands, so while they wear their heart on their sleeve, they wipe their bloody, coke-festered nose with said sleeve and then punch you in the face with the fist it houses.

There’s a party in Leadfoot’s pants and you’re all invited.
