THE ROADRUNNER RECORDS ROAD RAGE TOUR!
2005 VERSION OF ROADRUNNER’S SIGNATURE TOUR CELEBRATES
THE LABEL’S 25TH ANNIVERSARY
In celebration of Roadrunner Records’ 25th anniversary, the 2005 ‘Road Rage’ tour will feature Roadrunner’s rising metal stars, Trivium, 3 Inches of Blood, The Agony Scene and Still Remains. These acts represent the future of the metal genre. A name that millions of people around the world have grown to trust, Roadrunner Records developed the ‘Road Rage’ Tour as a way to give legions of metal heads around the world a chance to see the best and brightest that the label had to offer. For the third straight year the ‘Road Rage’ tour will do just that as the tour slams North America from March 3rd –April 2nd.
The group of bands that have been assembled for the 2005 ‘Road Rage’ tour are the heaviest and most diverse in its history. 3 Inches of Blood, whose duel vocalists sing about Vikings, pirates and knights slaying orcs, have toured with Metal Church, Crisis among others and released their debut album Advance & Vanquish late 2004. Ascendancy, the album by Trivium that will be out March 15th, is so technical and catchy it is a wonder that the music is brought to you by guys 18, 19, 21 and 22 years old who, by the time the tour starts will have toured with Slipknot, Dillinger Escape Plan, Danzig, Fear Factory, Chimaira and others. The Agony Scene and Still Remains are the newest members of the Roadrunner family and they will both release their Roadrunner debut albums this coming May. The Agony Scene who have just wrapped up a tour with Zao and will be out on the road with Strapping Young Lad come April, have just completed their album The Darkest Red. Of Love and Lunacy, the debut album from Still Remains was produced by GGGarth and is already garnering rave reviews.
The ‘Road Rage’ Tour has, in the past, featured Ill Nino, Chimaira, Machine Head and others. Founded in 1980, Roadrunner Records has become known for putting out the heaviest and most groundbreaking music including Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Soulfly, Sepultura, Fear Factory, Type O Negative and more.
Tickets went on sale early February through Ticketmaster. However, if you buy in groups of four through www.roadrunnerrecords.com/roadrage, fans will receive four after show passes that enable them to hang with the bands backstage.
