KNAC.COM contributing editor Frank Meyer has been hard at work on a wide variety of projects lately, so we thought we’d catch y’all up on his rock (so to speak) and/or roll.
Over the past year, Meyer has written and produced several TV pilots, including Video Game Theater, which tells darkly comedic behind-the-scenes stories of classic video game characters like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and Frogger via puppets and animation. This show finds him teaming up with puppet producer BJ Guyer of Crank Yankers and Team America, and writer Scott Chernoff of Jimmy Kimmel Show and Channel101.com fame. If you ever wanted to see Pac-Man shoot heroin and smack his bitch up, then go watch the demo here. You can also check out Pac-Man’s own personal website here.
Additionally, the co-author of Sanctuary’s highest selling music book, On the Road with The Ramones, has collaborated on upcoming books with Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine and famed photographer Neil Zlozower. He also regularly contributes to G4tv.com, doing rock and porn star interviews for G4’s The Man Show website, Attack of the Show and Street Fury. You can read recent interviews with rockers Avenged Sevenfold, Fort Minor, Taking Back Sunday, Nashville Pussy as well as video-vixens Carmen Luvana, Tera Patrick, Alexis Amore, and others.
Yet never one to leave rockin’ behind, Meyer’s former band The Streetwalkin’ Cheetahs reunited for a few shows last fall that were recorded for a live album and DVD out later this year on Triple XXX Records. The band recently launched a
Cheetahs MySpace site that features mucho photos, music, links and bio info. His current band Sweet Justice also launched a MySpace site and are prepping a follow-up to their critically acclaimed (editor’s choice in Rolling Stone) 2004 self-titled debut album.
Whew!
