Great White - Station Fire Update: Civil Lawsuit Refiled By Newsferatu, Writer Thursday, February 16, 2006 @ 9:13 AM
Lawyers representing nearly 275 people affected by The Station nightclub fire in Rhode Island have filed a revised lawsuit that adds dozens of new defendants.
The filing this afternoon comes just days before the three-year anniversary of the fire. The statute of limitations for bringing injury claims expires on February 20th.
It also sues individual members of the rock band Great White, accusing them of helping with the pyrotechnics show that sparked the deadly fire.
The plaintiffs also accuse Home Depot of negligence for selling insulation material without warning users about its potential hazards and names additional foam companies as defendants.
The amended complaint also reinstates the state of Rhode Island as a defendant.
One hundred people died in the fire, including eight who eitherlived or worked in Connecticut. More than 200 others were injured.
