Former Rainbow bassist Greg Smith has issued the following update: "Looks like I'll be playing bass for Uncle Ted (Nugent) this summer. I was kinda looking forward to having a summer at home with the family: BBQ's, canoeing, camping, recording in the barn and just enjoying the Smith "farm" but when Ted calls, you answer!! Rehearsals start the end of May, and tour starts in June. Go to Tednugent.com for the tour dates. "Wild" Mick Brown (Dokken) is playing drums and it's gonna be a fierce band and lots of fun. I'll try to stay out of jail! I'll also have recording capabilities out on the road so if anyone is in need of bass tracks, e-mail me!"
Velvet Revolver has pushed back the release of it's second album, Libertad, to late June, sources have told Launch Radio Networks. An exact arrival date for the disc has yet to be determined. Although it was never officially confirmed, June 5th was widely reported as the record's initial release date.
VOIVOD fan site Voivodfan.com has posted demos of the Katorz album tracks 'Mr. Clean', The Getaway', 'Red My Mind' and 'After All'. Check them out here.
Exciter bass player Clammy bumped into KNAC.COM Ottawa contributor, Andrew Depedro at the bar during a recent concert performance by Anvil. Clammy updated Andrew on what the band have been up to since they found their new singer Kenny “Metal Mouth” Winter and the news is that the band are still hammering out new songs and negotiating deals on upcoming concert appearances in North America and abroad.
Spread Eagle vocalist Ray West has made the following announcement regarding his upcoming solo tour dates: "Due to scheduling conflicts, Fireball Ministry bassist Johny Chow and Sex Slaves drummer J Bomb will not be touring with The Ray West Band. The new lineup will be Andrew Freeman (George Lynch) and Gerry Ganaden, also from the Lynch organization, [who] will be joining Ray on guitars along with Fran Stuart from the Kiss camp and Jonathan Gerard (Thirty Stones) in his West Coast lineup. East Coast dates will be Andrew Freeman (Lynch Mob), Steve Ladd and Tim Chigger (Smoke Star) on strings." West is in the studio working on material for his soon-to-be-released solo project. Rough mixes of the tracks "No State of Grace", "Novacaine" and "Stolen" can be heard at his MySpace page.
