Slash is working hard on a solo album. The Velvet Revolver, ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist made these comments about the progress of his solo work to Spinner.com:
"I'm working on it pretty aggressively right now while I have the time cause as soon as Velvet finds its singer (to replace Scott Weiland), then it's going to be off to the races with that. I'm using this little period to be able to do as much on my solo record as possible. I'm not sure exactly when it will come out, but hopefully it will come out before the Velvet record."
"It'll be my first solo record," continues Slash. "All the other ones were just me putting other bands together and going out and just jamming. This will actually be a little bit more personal."
Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover has issued the following update:
"My sad news; my mother, Brenda Glover, passed away on the 10th June, 2008. She was 86 and spent two and a half years fighting cancer. My life has been put on hold for the last three months as my sister Christine and I have been caring for her in her home in the UK. I am deeply indebted to my band-mates for allowing me this time off. My daughter Gillian and the rest of the family have been unswerving in their love and support. Everyone’s mother is special but Brenda had a way of being a special mother to everyone. I am a fortunate son indeed.
According to Reuters, AC/DC will sell its new album only through Wal-Mart Stores Inc, the Wall Street Journal reported on its website on Sunday, citing unnamed sources. The AC/DC album is expected to come out in the fall, the paper reported. Wal-Mart did not have an immediate comment.
