Well on the heels of "opening" up for Sebastian Bach only 3 weeks ago I heard about this "secret performance" being held at the Viper Room here in Hollywood. Sebastian along with Alice Cooper were front and center with some lively decked out gamers for Rockband 2 the sequel for Xbox 360. The judges for the competition were Ronnie James Dio(!), Riki Rachtman and writer Carrie Borzillo-Vrenna("Cherry Bomb")

I sacrificed the Monday Night Football game to go wait in-line which I hate, but I did it more for Snowy Shaw (ex-drummer for Dream Evil/King Diamond and now XXX) who was in town for a bit and my guest the day before at the KNAC studios.

The Big Prize: The winning "band" get to go on tour with Dashboard Confessional,Panic at the Disco and The Plain White T's some time next year.(not a bad deal for hardcore gamers who invest a lot of time turning into "thumb throbbing zombies"!!

Bach performed the Cheap Trick song in the game "Hello There" and that got the crowd going. When it was Alice's turn with his "band" he selected The Who's Pinball Wizard in full Alice attire (of course) After a short break it was time for the 3 judges to huddle up & decide which group would be victorious.

The whole taping lasted for a few hours and although I thought DIO was going to do a song(no such luck) it would have been a cool trifecta of REAL rock n roll singers performing at once! Had a short conversation with Sebastian during that break as we we both recapped our time at the Playboy Mansion gig.( see my recap)

Since I wont reveal the winning group for Rockband2 those of you who play this game religiously just know that the game comes with some additional really cool added songs to download and if you think your good enough your dreams could very well come true via the new reality Rockband show for MTV no less! (coming soon)

So out of the living room and into the "idiot box abyss"...
