Single Bullet Theory announce New Record Deal with Eclipse Records By Newsferatu, Writer Tuesday, June 22, 2010 @ 1:50 PM
Philadelphia based Single Bullet Theory is happy to announce a brand new four album deal with Eclipse records. Eclipse records will release the bands forthcoming album titled IV (previously reported to be called Divine Ways of Chaos).
IV features 10 fresh tracks featuring new members John Ruszin III (guitar), Jeff Kalber (bass) and Acacio Carvalho (drums). All drum tracks were recorded at Clay Creek Studio in Newark, Delaware with Engineer Nick Rotundo. The remainder of the record is being recorded at Ruszins studio in Wenonoh, NJ. IV marks a much more musically diverse yet muscular sound in Single Bullet Theorys’ career.
The record will be mixed by John Ruszin III, mastered by James Murphy (Testament, Death) and will feature artwork by renowned German artist Rainer Kalwitz. The record will also feature 6 additional bonus tracks from previous sessions including a guest performance from Matt Thompson (King Diamond) on a blistering cover of Deaths "Spirit Crusher" as well as a revamped version of “The Hurt That Never Ends” (previously released on SBT’s 2004 record “Behind Eyes of Hatred”. “IV will also feature an 8 minute instrumental track called “Auctioneer of Souls” and will feature guest guitarists from all over the globe.
Set to play solos on the track are Tim Roth (Into Eternity), Jed Simon (Strapping Young Lad, Jimmers Hole), Jack Frost (Seven Witches), Mark Simpson (Flotsam and Jetsam, Beautiful Creatures) as well as two other guests soon to be announced.
Two studio / video reports from Acacio (featuring his sessions) can be found here:
“This record has taken me over two years to write and with the help of some of the best musicians I could get my hands on, is shaping up to be a complete monster. Every band always announces that their newest works are always their ‘best” or “the most heavy”… this record is a complete shift in direction from my previous work and I feel that this is my most “true to form” material I have ever released. And for the guitar enthusiast out there… wait till you Mr John Ruszin III. John is one bad mutha trucker….
Single Bullet Theory expects to have a master recording with artwork delivered to the label no later then Sept. 1, 2010. A release date should be announced within the coming month.
