JANI LANE Autopsy Inconclusive By Tokemaster General, Contributor Sunday, August 14, 2011 @ 12:56 AM
According to E! Online, an autopsy performed Friday on late WARRANT singer Jani Lane proved inconclusive pending the results of toxicology tests, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office. Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter says it may take seven or eight weeks to finalize the cause of death.
"Alcoholism is not something he chose," Jani Lane's older sister, Vicky Oswald-Ley told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview. "It’s something he fought everyday and it just won. There were no drugs, that was one thing he could not tolerate, he couldn't stand them. He did not do drugs. Bbut he was a heavy drinker and I can only guess that alcoholism has a lot to do with it."
Investigators found a half-empty bottle of vodka and prescription medication in the hotel room where Jani Lane died on Friday, August 11th TMZ reported. Paramedics were called to the Comfort Inn in Woodland Hills, CA around 5:15 PM. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Jani Lane was born February 1st, 1964 in Akron, Ohio. He went on to sing on seven Warrant studio albums:
Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich Warrant's peak was their second record, 1990's Cherry Pie, which featured guest appearances by POISON's C. C. DeVille, DANGER DANGER's Bruno Ravel and Steve West, and Fiona. The album, which spawned the hits 'Cherry Pie', 'Uncle Tom's Cabin' and 'I Saw Red', reached the Top Ten in the United States, and went on to sell 3 million copies. After leaving Warrant, Lane issued a solo album, Back Down To One. That was followed by a brief stint with SAINTS OF THE UNDERGROUND, who only released one album - Love The Sin, Hate The Sinner.
