They have become the darlings of the Sunset Strip and now they are poised to take on the world with their heavy, unrelenting aural assault entitled Goliath. The BUTCHER BABIES features the dual vocal team of Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey as well as guitarist Henry Flury, bassist Jason Klein, and drummer Crissy Warner. The CD will be available via Century Media Records in the US on July 9th and the band is poised to take the country by storm on this year’s Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival.

"We have currently been doing some one-off dates before getting ready to leave for Mayhem and we are really excited because this is the biggest touring festival we have done," Said Shepherd. "We have also been getting ready for the album release and we have been so excited about the reception we have had leading up to this."

Shepherd stated that the band had done tours prior to being asked to join Mayhem that prepared them for time on the road and that helped expose them to other markets outside of the West coast.

"We did a small tour with GEMINI SYNDROME and we also toured with OTEP," she said. "We did get to tour with Marilyn Manson earlier this year and that exposed us to a huge fan base. We have been getting a great response. " "We didn’t really expect all of this to blow up so big," Harvey said. "We have a huge following in Germany, and we also got to do the Download Festival in the UK last year and we are just so happy that people are enjoying it and that they appreciate it. What is more fun than being able to do what you love in a project that you conjured up with your best friend! It’s an amazing feeling."

The band does have a diversified range of fans and they have a super theatrical stage performance. Citing Wendy O. Williams and the PLASMATICS as one of their earliest influences, the girls pull out all the stops onstage and treat the audience to a gory funfest.

"There have been many out there that say metal is not the place for women and there have been times that when people would come to a show we felt like we had something to prove but ultimately the question has become ‘what are these chicks gonna do next?’ and we have been so accepted now by men and women in the scene," Shepherd said. "I think that anybody can do anything and the metal community is just really cool and powerful and we are living our dream. We play music we love and we are having a blast."

The debut album will feature songs like "I Smell a Massacre" which also has a lyric video that was debuted exclusively via the Mayhem Festival website and the CD was produced by Josh Wilbur, who has been lauded as a metal master because of his work with LAMB OF GOD, GOJIRA and HATEBREED.

Be sure to look for the CD in stores on July 9th and check them out in your town on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
